Well, they can have over 80 dB of isolation.

Question/looking for a deal:
A 6DJ8 variant tube that is a little dark on the highs?

80 dB? Please review your numbers.

Tube: I have that tube in the Aune T1. The Aune is to bright for me so I have also searched for a tube to roll off the treble. Don't have a Mullard. Several Amperex and the upgraded stock are all bright in it. The Russian tubes have a little more bottom end but still doesn't compensate enough. I'm going to replace the Aune. I recommend trying the Russian tubes.

I looked it up, ety isolation is between 35-42 dB, I over guessed before but these are still the strongest isolators.

I have a Sylvania JAN 6DJ8, two Amperex bugle Boys (with microphonic issues), a generic white label Amperex, and four Russian Voskhod tubes. The bugles are brightest, Sylvania JAN has amazing detail and soundstage but too neutral to tame the Q701 highs during extended listening, the Vokshods are probably the most all-around refined, and the white-label Amperex was my first tube, the most different from the others and quite dark and boomy (I think it might actually be defective).

Amazing EBay deals can be had on tubes, if you spend the time.

Hmm.. I may be in the market for a DAP to pair with that H3. Wondering if this is a good buy or getting something like a DX90 would be the right step? Also is this an MK2 or MK1?

Anyone know what recent sale prices were, if any, on the IBasso DX90? It seems a dual ESS chip would be superior than the Wolsfson, right?

I have the same question here. It seems like 400 is a great price drop compared to its MSRP. I have a X3 now and I wonder how much better is the AK100. I don't know if it worth its price compared to Fiio and iBasso in the price range.

I used to have the X3, AK100 and AK100MK2.
Overall to me AK100 SQ is better than the X3, better refinement, clarity, details and soundstage. But it has less dynamics than X3, so some might find it a bit dull after the initial change.

Best you try it yourself. Different people has different opinions.. but most of the comparisons are with AK120 instead

That AK100 definitely sparked my interest but as usual after reading reviews and other makes, I naturally lean towards a DX90, X5, or maybe even Sony Walkman F886/887 or Z1.

Oh wells. Also excited to receive two sets of VSD3 IEMS after looking them up on the lendmeurears deal a page or two back (which they didn't have them in stock).
