^^ I received my 51st Studios yesterday and have been listening and burning them in. Luckily, I didn't notice any glue or parts coming off. They do feel a bit more flimsy than I expected, based on the pic.

So far, I do like the signature. Good soundstage, but resolution (particularly when there are lots going on) is not the best. Voices are a bit more veiled too. Again, still burning them in and am happy with what I have, particularly when price is factored in.

This is a really good deal!  I'm tempted to grab one for listening at work!

Dam, i so want some but i already own some ATH M50......would it be a good reason to grab these over my M50? will i be missing out or something? If I buy these sennies, they will be my first. I want to hear the sennhesier sound lol.

How is the bass with the 558? I love me some bass,  not bloating bass of course but something that has a big punch to it, maybe more than my M50 and a bigger soundstage. Although I do have some Fidelio X1 but i want something in the 100 dollar area

Sorry, the 558 doesn't sound like your kind of headphone.

I've only gotten to audition the HD558 in store, and it feels more like competition for Grado as supposed to what is one of the starter basshead cans.  When you say I love me some bass, the 558 just doesn't feel like it'd satisfy.

Actually, yeah you guys are right. I just read some reviews. And i guess i over did it saying i love me some bass. And maybe asking more than what the M50 offers. But I actually just want the bass to present there, nothing overwhelming i suppose. Im going to use them for some FPS gaming although i heard some mix reviews about their soundstage and positional cues, however, these drivers are in the pc360 headset.

Plus I have seen that the 558 have a detachable cable, would a boom mic pro work with it?
And also, Im seeing that sennheiser also has the 598 for sale, would the coupon code work with it? and How will the 558 compare to the 598? sorry asking too many questions but i just need a good headphone for competitive use. Just need the bass present. I could just go and grab the AKG Q701 or the K702 but...for 100, bucks...i guess thats a better deal
