I don't know if this bothers anyone but me............Why isn't the model name of the earphone imprinted somewhere on it? Unless I'm missing it most (almost all?) companies don't do it. The more IEM's owned, the more irritating this is.

Thanks!  I ordered the used AKG Q701.

I did the same last tuesday and the headphones I received were new factory sealed... Hope you get the same..

Thank you for the wishes.  You caused me to reconsider, and this is what just happened.  When I ordered mine earlier today, there was only one listed, and it was described as "very good" and having "minor cosmetic imperfections."  Now, there are several "very good" ones listed for the same price, with different descriptions. There is also a "like new" one, with description "packaging may be damaged" for $129.55.  Maybe these will be factory sealed. I have just canceled the original "very good" order and ordered the "like new" one. We'll see.

They arrived yesterday (Friday).  They were factory sealed and made in Austria.  My guess is that this is "new old stock." The Q701 appreciation thread has similar reports.  Some reports there indicate that the "very good" ones from Amazon Warehouse (for a few dollars less) were also factory sealed.

Then why is it that almost every other device identifies the model (receivers, TVs, etc)? I figure for the price that they charge, they should include the model.  Why don't they do it? Maybe they should leave off the brand name, too. Afterall, shouldn't you know what gear you have????

Sennheiser HD598 are currently $149.99 at Frys.

I just visited mine and they had one "open box" left. Since it was on clearance, the sales guy was able to increase the open box discount from 5% to 15%. That made the open box pair $127.46.
