My tracking showed the package was delivered to Miami FL on 4/4/2022. I contacted DHL but they won't tell me the delivery address (for protection purpose I think).

I sent these documents to Paypal:
1. Newegg invoice (with tracking number)
2. Tracking details (showing delivered to Miami FL)

Paypal immediately issued refund and closed the case. I guess I was not the first one to report this issue to Paypal.

They probably hope some people won't contest it or don't have as good of buyer protection like a debit card. Then presumably they cut and run at some point. NewEgg is supposed to cover for their 3rd party sellers but it's NewEgg so who knows how good they actually are about that. PayPal and Amazon are usually really good about protections so I'm more likely to take a risk on a sketchy seller.

I should add in: these scammy companies often ship something so they have some plausible deniability or at least a longer window before the consumer contests the charge.

I bit of an over reaction, IMHO. The whole deal looked very fishy from the start. If the vendor had 1000 positive reviews, I would say there's an issue, but this looked like a scam from the start. Stick to well reviewed merchants and you should be OK.

There is also that fiasco that was brought to light by Gamer's Nexus with Newegg reselling defective or returned items as new.
