How’s the fit and finish on this nice looking amp?
I would say that the fit and finish is at least on par for the price I paid. I think the control knob is a little wobbly/loose but that might be the case because it is a single knob that controls/does everything from turning on/off, volume, jumping between inputs, outputs, etc. This means that you need to push the control knob in to activate or change between the options and on/off. A lot of low priced equipment has pretty decent quality these days. The bar has definitely been raised since a few years ago.

If you follow Zeos he recently post an link (Affiliated I think I'm not sure) in his channel for an extra $100 off on the Mr Speakers Ether XC on Drop ($650) that is the lowest price on these since BF.

Need a cheap open-back with long-proven dynamic drivers? The Monoprice HR-5 is a great priced open-back Brainwavz HM5 clone:

https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=34192

Guess what? The HR-5 is compatible with Brainwavz oval ear pads! Here are their ovals for HM5-styled ear cups:

I recommend the angled hybrid here with 2.5” wide padded headband cover for supreme-and-cheap comfort:

Want a balanced tube sound with your Monoprice HR-5? Use this cable, tube amp, and tubes, per @alex50  :

Just want to thank you once again for sharing your tip. This little red pocket rocket is a nice little addition to add yet another different flavour to my chameleon-like headphone. This little amp adds just the right amount of air and space to my HEDDphone. It really picks up the changes when I go from amp to amp or dac to dac.

When I ordered it, I didn't even think about the colour selection until after the fact but it was already ordered. So when I received it today, I was hoping for the red one since this was a 'fun-buy' and it just wouldn't be as much fun to me if it were black.

If anyone else is looking for a fun little amp, I recommend this one. And mine was the opened box deal for $69.99 too and it looks brand new.
i got the open box one and it went up in smoke when i plugged it in! tubes did not light up and smelled like electrical fire. returned for amazon credit immediately, credit refunded within 4 hours, so ok except hassle of return shipping efforts (free return shipping however) too bad, cause i had one of the original ones and it worked great except for loose knobs and annoying switching of inputs outputs. but not enough power to really make full size planar sing.....doubt if i will reorder again..

Not a "clone", the OEM is Yoga Electronics, as covered here:

Analysis of the performance of the Fischer Audio FA-002 (which should correspond to the Monoprice HR-5 performance):

I have the Spadger CD990 version of this headphone. They sound fantastic for the price. I recently pared down my headphone collection and had sworn off buying any new ones...but these went down to $35, and I always wanted to try the open backed version (I had the closed version, I liked it fine, but I wound up giving them to a girlfriend because the sound was anodyne to my tastes) I figured if they didn't impress me I'd just send them back, but I was really surprised. The thing they do really well, and make them a compliment to my X2hr, is the mids. They are less fatiguing and in your face than my Grado 325e, which is my usual go-to headphone for rock. I love the way they present guitars, for example. I have been really pleasantly surprised that guitar riffs that might have gone unnoticed before are highlighted and shown off in a really enjoyable way. I don't reach for my Grados anymore...I might be selling them honestly.

Audio 46 has some B-stock n5005 for $400 (reminder: new prices have been ~450-500ish IIRC). https://audio46.com/products/akg-n5005-in-ear-headphones

I wonder how many people buy this one from Drop... $4 savings wrapped in 6 week long wait.

Just enough time for them to organize a Drop with the next new hype to pick up some steam. I'm surprised someone hasn't done a subscription service for these things yet (please don't!).

I was going to post this deal yesterday but I ask myself, who the hell is going to buy some new floor speaker when half the nation is cripple,
I just check and Amazon sold out on the KEF Q550, they where 24% off. Amazon said they won't charge or ship to things get better but people are crazy
This is where we need software application to go sale.
