Wow, that's a name I have't heard in a while. I wasn't even aware they were still around. Last time I used an Aiwa product was a portable CD player in the 90s.

Anyone heard this "legendary" Aiwa Exos-9?

AFAIK they don't have any affiliation with the original Aiwa, but just a company that licensed the trademark for use in the US. Have seen some positive comments but kind of an unknown.

Legend of the mind.

That's as I understand it.

Unfortunately I am being charged $40 tax for N90Q. I will try the N90Q due to the great return policy. $1500 is an astonishingly high price. Apparently these were selling for $640 at Amazon around Feb 2019. Amazon currently has them for $1000, so using that as a price point does the performance justify $1000 or are these overpriced headphones with a Quincy Jones premium added in to the price?

It looks like the battery needs to have a charge to use these even though they are wired headphones. So when the battery reaches end of life the headphones can no longer be used?

Focal Elegias fluctuate on Amazon, and were at $549 last week, but currently back at $599. But apparently Adorama has sold them for $450 periodically. At that price, I'd snap up a pair. It would be great if anyone could post any sub $500 deals on these.

Any sub-$600 deals are almost certain to come from unauthorized dealers. Focal only honors warranties from authorized dealers, so purchasing from unauthorized vendors means relying on those vendors for post-purchase support. Something to keep in mind since that support will not be consistent from one vendor to the next. You should figure out for yourself what you think that manufacturer's warranty is worth.
