IER-Z1R, I'm sorry but for me solaris is grade B+ while Z1R on S personally.
The answer is always Z1R. What was the question?1A user, should i go for 2020 solaris or go direct to z1r?
They are put in loosely with wires connecting them, so the welds don't come apart with use.Quick question for WM1Z owners
Since I bought the WM1Z in good condition in Japan, the 3.5mm and 4.4mm inputs feel a little loose.
They are a little loose for my taste, but they are not that bad, and in terms of sound it works wonderfully.
I came up with a temporary grip solution by cutting very small sheets of post it notes and inserting them into the black ring on the input jack
With this one you don't feel much movement, but if you move it a lot, you still feel little.
However, my WM1A (black) is rock solid on the 4.4mm input and a little jiggly on the 3.5mm
I was wondering if this is common to all models
or if there is some kind of defect.
If the WM1A/Z inputs are connected or soldered? Thank !
I have never listened to 2020 Solaris. Based on my brief experiences with Z1R, it will have a good synergy with stock firmware or Mr Walkman firmware using either WM1Z or neutral profile, mainly because you will need to find the mid then latch to it in order to enjoy it. IER-M9 has a better synergy with WM1A in any profiles (M9 has a rather thin sound, it needs something with a hint of warmth to make it sound fuller thus more enjoyable)1A user, should i go for 2020 solaris or go direct to z1r?
My concern was that these movements could cause cuts or breaks over time? This dap costs over 1000 dollars, can you expect the connectors to be firm, stabilized. They are put in loosely with wires connecting them, so the welds don't come apart with use.
This is the best. Most daps have the ports hard soldered to the board while the Sony ports are soldered to the board via wires. This allows the ports to move freely without putting any strain on the solder joints to the board and is a specific choice by the Sony designers. To me it’s a bit like you have suspension on cars rather than having the axel bolted directly onto the chassis of the car.My concern was that these movements could cause cuts or breaks over time? If I press my finger on either of the female inputs, I notice both rings move.
It may seem paranoid, but when you get a product you want the best. Why would Sony do that?
Thanks, that's the most accurate answer I've ever heard, I can rest easy for now. that sony made this under a prepared designThis is the best. Who is saying that sony DAPs aren''t durable and long-lasting??
Well, here's a Sony network Walkma from 2004 still going strong I'm working fine
Do you have the link by any chance? for @JSBachFan to use.No. The newest (beta) version with the J3 region was only released via a deep link here in the custom fw thread
I was so excited to try the J1 J2 J3 options, that I browsed for a while and found it.Do you have the link by any chance? for @JSBachFan to use.
