I got another Sandisk 1.5TB and was able to get the elapsed time to copy my library to the new card using a USB3 card reader on a Mac mini.

My library has 11,934 tracks (1.15TB) and it took Carbon Copy Cloner 15:15:58.
My library has 69636 tracks. Abbout 1.7TB

For all the romantic nostalgia of the old days of cassette Walkmans and physical media I am so content to have a library of pristine music ready for instant playback - no wear and tear, chewed tapes, rewinding, scratched disc's, the fear of getting busted with that album of that band you were ashamed to like, and the ability to add more with no added bulk.

But, I will say that for all the convenience, it doesn't provide the same experience and connection as holding the album in your hand and studying the images and details, lyrics, credits etc.
Or the cool nostalgia of a NW-E507/nw-A608 being tied to sonicstage on windows xp.
O can't install the driver for these walkmans on windos 11 as it blocks the exe for security reasons

Maybe too old, you could risk disabling security just for the install, I think I had to do that to install adb drivers for Windows 10.

I am happy for the arrival of the wm1z that I bought used in Japan 🇯🇵, I am surprised because I thought it would arrive in poor condition, since these days it is difficult to find it in better condition.

When I opened it I was surprised by the good condition, this should be new I said :astonished:, since in each corner and in the connectors you can see that it has not been touched by any headphones inside, I'm really not kidding.

I also managed to notice that in its playback it had 7 seconds of use, this needs to be burned:fire:

The connectors shine and I detect no trace of use as far as I can detect it, and it cost me a little less than what they list on eBay. The thing is, the Japanese really know how to keep their products open/used for sale:thinking: haha.:smile:

Now I have a question, because the device is Japanese, I can't change the language, is there any method to change the language?

You can use the RockBox nwdest tool to change to another region than J which will add the Change language gui option and then you can change to English and the switch back to J region. Or you can install the MrWalkman WalkmanOne modded fw

you can change it to 00:00:00 every day by doing a factory reset.

There's also the NP Audio all in one tool.

As I recall that is just a user friendly shell command file front end for the nwdest tool though I’ve never used it
