I got mine on 2016 december. But i was on a vacation in Hamburg ao disnt use ituntil 2017 since then heavy useThat’s amazing. I’m only 6200+ between the two.
The first 3 years I used it about 1.000 hours a year on travels but the last year there has not been much of that so under 500 hours that year. I expect it to last me at least another 5-10 years. And then I have another 3-4.000 hours on my TA home rig, usually listen 3-5 hours each night while readingI got mine on 2016 december. The stock battery should last you at least 6-8.000 hours and probably more, I think gerelmex is still on the original battery with his 10.500 hours playtimeMy WM1A has been in use only ~5 weeks (just over 100 hours of usage) and I'm already on the look-out for a reputable shop in the U.S. for battery replacement (maybe higher capacity?) in a couple years. I know Nayparm exists, and I liked reading that he stood behind the work he did on those devices with the bad batch of batteries, but I'm not looking to mod mine beyond maybe battery, and shipping back & forth to U.K. is not my preferred route in any event.
Yea still original qnd on classic i still get secenr 2.5 day playtimeThe stock battery should last you at least 6-8.000 hours and probably more, I think gerelmex is still on the original battery with his 10.500 hours playtime
10K is a fair number, temperature, discharge rate, depth of discharge and charge rate can also effect the battery life. Overall I think the majority of owners will see past the 10K mark. One of the major proving factors is just how few if any have needed a battery replacement since 2016Sony has stated that the original battery is rated at at least 500 full charge cycles and as each cycle gives 15-30 hours plytime depending on features used and files played the battery should easily exceed 10.000 hours. For me with a recharge once a week that would equate to at least 10 years
I’ve only seen a handfull of comments about people needing a replacement. I had absolutely no need after over 3 years but had it done as part of the Nayparm mod to double the capacity10K is a fair number, temperature, discharge rate, depth of discharge and charge rate can also effect the battery life. I'd leave be until the battery is up for a change and even then all you need is the right instruction's and a competent technician. Vast majority of the guys who repair phones could easily do this as long as you furnish them with instruction's. For the most part just need a compatible battery and swap the controller board from the Sony's original battery.Capacity increase is the primary reason I'm contemplating a battery replacement at all, tbh. I am familiar with Sony's typically good long term battery performance. It's all a moot point for me thus far as I have zero clue if a trustworthy shop even exists in the U.S.
Which do you prefer? Is 3.02 bass weak?3.01 bass is stronger, 3.02 is more balanced with a wider more holographic presentation. With both you'll also get more and improved DSP features versus 1.20. With the WM1A you can upgrade and downgrade as you please. Sony has no restrictions in place, so there's no reasons why not to try

3.02 with custom firmware. 3.02 isn't bass weak, it's more accurate as the track demands...Which do you prefer? Is 3.02 bass weak?
