^ find me a H140.

look wise its not bad!!
wood finish with vintage radio styled display, and buttons. good

but i doubt the volume control potentiometer will hold its place, i mean its a portable player, will move a lot ..a digital control would ave been good, even a dial would have been better than this sliding type potentiometer.!
not practical !

I will sell you my H120 for $500.

It is such a good player, and i only use it via the headphone and analog line out jacks.

You are of course correct, singh.  Which is why it seems silly for people to claim otherwise; there has been more than one posting of someone getting rid of their iRiver H1xx to buy an 801, stating that the reason was SQ.   And a Rockbox'd H1xx, while undeniably old, has a satisfactory UI and lots of nice features, and especially with an upgraded HD and battery has all the capacity of a modern player plus excellent battery life.

I have a Rockboxed Iriver H120 and I love it, even though I only use the headphone out. I should be getting the QLS QA350 in the mail soon, and I can do a comparo if you'd like. I would have to get a DAC first to really take advantage of each player's digital outputs, but I am sure I will get one sometime.

Actually I have several times done such a search, and no one has directly addressed this particular issue.

That's because you can't. Everyone has different budgets, preferences, tolerances, desires. There is no "the best" anything because it's different strokes for different folks. That's why when I see threads like this I bash my head against a wall and say "here we go again...".

Its also not fair to ask for impressions and comparisons of items not even released or on sale yet.  Most of those don't qualify as 'launched' in my book.

Did you not say more than just the colorfly?

Why bother to start a thread concerning it when the impressions thread has ZERO impressions?
