Thank you very much for your love for the AR5000. Regarding the ear pads of the SR7000, we do indeed sell them separately, and they should be available for purchase soon. As for the bass you mentioned, the SR7000 does have more bass compared to the AR5000 during tuning. However, the lab tests and actual human listening experience can be different, so the final result may still vary. We are very cautious in our sound tuning process because we want to deliver the best sound to our users. We hope that after listening to the SR7000, it will leave you with a good impression. Thank you for your feedback.Very, very early impressions (also posted on Reddit if you saw my thoughts there). These have the same great comfort and build quality as the AR, but maybe slightly better? The stitching on the leather looks cleaner, and the PADS are fantastic compared to the AR. Aune, sell these separately, I’d love them on my ARs. The case is also very nice. Including the balanced cable is a great addition too, it appears to be the same as the one they sell for the AR, but black accents instead of silver to match the SR. Comfort, build qualities, accessories, A+++.
Sound… I dunno. I’m not a super technical person, but I wasn’t blown away. I think they are slightly less bright, with pretty good detail separation, but nothing “wowed” me. If they were aiming for the same sound signature as the AR in a closed back, I think they nailed it, but I’m skeptical on if the added increase in cost is worth it to basically have a similar sound in a closed back option. I feel especially that the bass should’ve been better since it is a closed back. For someone more knowledgeable with measurements and EQ, I’d be curious to see what they would do. I’ll try and tinker later this week and see what I can find out.
