I am trying to get a decent price on these in mint condition as I am really intrigued -- anyone have some advice on where to acquire one in mint condition other than new?  The list prices for new are all 1400 to 2000.

Nothing except giving the cups a quick wipe with microfibre cloth every time after using them. Then the shine will take care of itself

Btw, will these cans sound good with a solid state amp?

Hahah.. i used to have microfibre cloth for cleaning my car...now I need one to clean my cans LOL!

I'm using them with a Conductor and it sounds fantastic to me, but they're not hard to drive so I think they will sound good paired with most amps

They should sound great with your Pioneer - as long you don't need a pitch black background. These guys are very sensitive and the HP out on your receiver packs a punch (relatively).
