I'm having to pick and choose my purchases right now. I decided to go for the headphones first because I have the BTR5 that I can use with my phone.
Well it's a nice purchase anyway...i would be happy with a pair indeed...
I can't see me changing from the btr5 from run of the mill running around, and work, it's ease of use portability and sound are awesome as a package....im even contemplating selling my dx160 if the dtr1 is all its cracked up to be, it sounds better than the btr5 and is small and light but the btr5 package is better for me, just not carrying two devices and using the galaxy s10 phone screen is a joy! I know me and if the dtr1 is as good as they say the dx160 won't get used ...never thought I would say that as you all know I love the 160 it sounds fantastic!

These look interesting for the price. If you want wireless check it the Ananda Wireless. Not sure if Hifiman sound is your computer if tea.

"Slightly" more $$$

I also have heard the Ananda are very good...they were on my watch list as I do like hifiman and owned a few pairs all be it lower tier but I seem to have drifted away from headphones....regret selling the mojo a little, it had power and sounded great, lovely with planars.

....or get a BTR5 and make all your headphones wireless.

That wouldn't work for me unfortunately. I have power hungry planars, they can be portable but only if I bought an iFi iDSD Micro for a 3rd time, lol.

I don't really wear over ear headphones outside of the house, do y'all? I'm an IEM guy once I'm out.

Sorry mate, we'll have to wait a bit to compare. I had my order in on Amazon for the dtr1 and then the deal came up for the Ananda. I canceled and purchased the Ananda. I didn't want to miss the deal.

The btr5 is very powerful! Reckon it could power something like 400i ...but would it sound good????

I'm listening to the Sendy Aivas right now and they sound really good with the BTR5 using LDAC off my phone.

The specs are good for IEMs and efficient headphones, but that isn't enough to effectively run 50Ω planar magnetics imo.
