Was about to say that faceplate color looks like yellow and not gold, then I doublechecked on the Designer interface and remembered that Gold color artwork option was only available for the full siren option, not the hollow one. Could you post a photo with them in your ears, to see how they fit? AFAIK, John Culter's was the only other person with custom Laylas (who thankfully posted a lot of pics). And a macro shot of each side if you feel comfortable doing it ^^ [in the Layla thread, not to go offtopic here]

Sure thing I can do that

And yeah, I was hoping they would look more goldish (go Hawks!) than yellow, but overall I'm pretty happy, they came out beautifully and sound fantastic

Well, what I thought was the solution to my problem was not: after about a day of no muting, it returned with the gapless disengaged. I've reached out to my dealer about a possible replacement if the problem doesn't resolve itself.

I am in love with my SS!

My recollection is that someone here or on the other ak240 thread stated that this is a known bug and that iriver is working on it for a future update.  Can someone confirm this?

Glad someone else confirmed they recall this problem. I also remember there being discussion about a firmware update. The question is whether A&K will continue to support the 240 after the 380 release; I'm sure there will be a lot of growing pains with the new model and A&K's technical staff will likely be focused on remedying any issues with the 380.

As ak380 is going to come out. How much would a used ak240 worth? Want to sell mine:frowning2:

With the price point of the AK380 being >$3k, I would be surprised if the price of AK240s will be seriously impacted. The greater threat for the AK240 value is from below not above.  As Sony and AK continue to release enhanced versions of their less expensive models they are starting to encroach on the capabilities of the 240.  If you intend to sell, I would either sell now or shortly after the 380 is released.

I sold mine a month ago for $1,550.

That's a knock out price!  Seems the majority are still going for around $1,700 to $1,900.  Quite a few RWAK's out there too.

Was the AK100/120 sales affected by the introduction of the AK240? Most hi-end consumers (not impulsive ones like me

) will probably stay in their respective price point.

Uncertain but due the different price point probably not.  However, the AK100/120 mark II's came out shortly after the AK240. Interestingly, the original AK120 seems to still be in demand. I read several comments where folks like the SQ of the original better than the mark II.
