The Astell & Kern AK240

Is anyone aware of any software that can be used to compare a directory on the pc with the ak240 music directory - Id like to use software such as syncback pro or file sync to keep the ak240 synced with the music on my windows 7 pc, but as the ak240 shows in windows as an android phone rather than a network drive, Ive not found any syncing software that will recognise the ak240.

The AK240 uses MTP as per Android Jellybean and above.  This imposes limits on multiple factors when compared to USB mass storage.  It is single tasking only, can't perform multiple operations to say search for file types and erase.  Most file managers will fail on MTP volumes.  Manual operations as far as I know from windows side.  On android 3rd party apps could do this but AK240 doesn't allow for installation.

No, that's far too slow, almost 1MB/s which would be USB1 speeds.  Try using a different USB port.  Hope that is a real timing and not the progress indicator in windows when transfer is in progress.  MTP transfers have really buggy progress indicators in windows, always way too high.  In use I estimate about 15MB/s for internal storage.  For the microsd card it is slower than direct connection to the card.

Thanks for the reply! I'm pretty sure the problem now would be the cable. A Different USB Cable solved the issue! So much for my AK100's data cable XD

You gotta love those days, when the music sounds so exceptionally good on the AK-240.

Thing is it's all relative, I went back to the DX90 and UM30 and thought missing something here.  Went to the HTC M8 and I gave up after 5 mins since it doesn't sound great.  I feel the AK240 & Chord Hugo has poisoned my tastes for music.  Just not willing to compromise now.  Scared to buy the LCD-XC in case I can't go back to UE18, can't take head cans out on a walk :frowning2:

I'm using IE-800 now with the AK-240, I'm still a few weeks out on completion of my K-10, and Whiplash TWau reference cable. Can't stand the wait.

Great thought  that cable is long! While you're at it, any thought of changing out to balanced?

I still not sure wether to make it balance out or not... Because i gonna use RWAK240 to drive it, and Vinnie told me that the 3.5 PO is more than enough to drive TH900.

So here i wanna know what's the difference between the 3.5 PO and the 2.5 BO of RWAK240. :p

I guess the difference will be similar to the difference on unmodified units. But it really depends from the earphones, some show real improvements, other ones less so.
