In case you guys come to Belgium, I can let you demo my headphones. I am darn happy with them and currently using for on to go. Easy to drive, build like Panzer, clarity masters considering their price range.

Dude, I'm definitely interested

I have the same issue so bands like Motorhead and Motley Crue doesn't show up correctly. This is not fixed in the latest firmware.

Just joined "the club" yesterday getting my AK120 :) Have any of you seen issues with the DAC feature? I was playing around switching back and forth between internal play and using the DAC feature and then suddenly I only got skipping sound (silence, music, silence, music with 0.3sec'ish intervals)... Only way to fix this was to reboot my AK120.

I'll try to recreate the issue and post when this occurs.

Anyone tried Ultrasone Edition 8's or Audio Technica 1000's with the AK120? Would be interested in feedback.

Are you referring to the ATH-CKW1000ANV or the ATH-W1000x?

I have tried the CKW1000ANV, and I think it matches with the AK120 very well.  The bass is always very strong with the W1000ANV, but I found it some what uncontrolled with most source.  But with the AK120 I feel that the power and the control are there and the combo is very enjoyable.

I didn't haggle at all! I looked up their website on a Sunday and they had a banner saying 10% off, picked that code applied to my order and voila - 1140, discounted to 1026.

I was 50-50 on whether to pull the trigger on the AK120, but when I saw the discount, I did what any (in)sane man would do..

Yes, I did. I ordered on May 27, delivery took another week as they were out of stock.

Great piece of kit. Still trying it to find an optimum portable solution. I love how it sounds with the TH 900 but its not very on the road friendly. I have the SE535's that sound so-so with it. So, I have just put in an order for the Heir 8A's that will hopefully be my holy grail.

... till the AK130 comes out and I am given a x% discount to throw all logical reasoning out of the window..

if you bought from the States you could of saved a bundle & in theory only paid £150 for you IE800's... just a thought.

there's more issues coming out with regard to the AK120, when you total them together this really doesn't represent good value for money in a piece of kit of such high value (cough)

Just chiming in on the value bit for portability.

My previous (and only good portable set up I have owned) was Ipod -> CLAS -> Graham Slee Voyager/RSA 71A and I can positively say that even without an amp in the chain the AK120 beats that set up hands down. Combined with the fact that it is literally 20% the size of the 'stack', it is very good.

I have not tried other players/set ups, so this is obviously me speaking out of the tiny world I operate in.
