Mine can slide out just plugging in the micro usb cable. I guess I will just see how it does over time.

Well, applying a force like plugging in the USB does push mine out as well, but for holding it I'm confident it won't just drop out.

Hello all - I need your help with the following. I have an Auralic Gemini and an AK240 with lots of DSD files that I mainly use as transport. I would like to feed the Gemini with the DSD files on the AK. I can't find a conclusive answer whether this is possible and which of the three ports on the Gemini (http://www.auralic.com/gemini/#Connections) I should use (the toslink only allows for up to 24/192). Also, what cable would I need to connect the AK240 to my Gemini? Pretty new around here, so any help much appreciated. Will post this in the other AK240 forum too. Thanks, Pieter

Quick question, is there any difference(s) between the 3 AK240 (standard, gold and SS) in terms of sound? Couple of 380 owners/testers feels that there's a difference between the standard 380 and the 380cu

Thanks beforehand

hello everybody, my AK240 is arriving soon. I will use it with custom iem 64audio model V6. I'm seriously considering buying an aftermarket balanced cable but have absolutely no experience in this domain.
I've been suggested to look at cables produced by effect audio, in particular their model Eros, which costs about 200$.
I wondered if someone have had it, or if someone can compare it to other cables. I do not wish to pay more than 300$.

I have both units with me now. 1st impression on RWAK 240 didn't give me a "Wow" comparing to AK240.
But.. yeah RWAK240 seems better than AK240 now. I've been spending just 15 mins comparing them. You need to pay a lot of attention to find better micro details on RWAK240.

I have bought 3 silver litz cables from Ted Allen.  You can read about him and his work here, The NEW Headphone Lounge Thread.  Highly recommended for build quality, turn around time, and fair pricing.  Bon Chance!

Try these if you are in the U.S.

1) plussoundaudio.com

2) doublehelixcables.com

This if you are in Asia (These two offer worldwide shipping too.)

3) effectaudio.com

4) http://www.beataudiolab.com/

5) http://labkable.com/products/Pandora-%252d-The-Ultimate-HiEnd-Audio-IEM-cable.html     (Better contact them by email)

Or this if you are in Europe

6) https://www.toxic-cables.co.uk/

Each brand has its own advantages and disadvantages.
I've tried  2, 3, and 4 for my CIEM Roxanne.

That's very helpful, and Ted answered my questions. Didn't you find the silver cable too harsh or too tuned toward the treble?
My experiences with silver on my main rig have not been satisfying, but maybe with ciem it is different.

Thanks, what do you mean exactly by advantages and disadvantages?
I'll take a look at toxic, as I'm based in Europe and that would be much easier. Anyone that has tried this?
