Noob question, sorry about that....
Does an extra amp. such as e.g. this Vorzuge Pure II solve the impedance matter as well?

IMHO, any amp that you adds in between would likely solve the output impedance matter.  I'm no expert on electronics and just one headfier.

I've been amping the Tera over a year and had very good results.  Apart the Vorzuge has more punches, you may find more low end that you might not have heard when connect the Tera direct.  So, I'd say it has helped to flatten the sound range curve somehow.  You may try with any amp to see if there is any difference.

Cheers

I just remembered having a Fiio E6 somewhere and tried indeed.
Suddenly while using my deeply loved GR10, I hear bass :-)
Ehhh, lot's of it.......

Time to head this direction but a bit better quality probably :-)))

Thanks flymetothemoon!

That's great and glad you've found new heights.

In most DAPs, its output stays very low between 0-3ohm and thus post no impedance mismatch to those IEMs and Tera is one of exceptions.

Yes, I read about this before purchasing the Tera but quite frankly didn't expect that it would bother me as much as it does...

BTW now sonically far more acceptable already, portability needs some more work :-)

Definitely will be heading this direction for a while.
Thanks again and have a great weekend!

Hmmm...what a loop of cable.  How you'd like to swing it while on-the-go LOL.

hello fellas,

yes i know, this is my third or fourth post with almost the same question….i'm sorry for that!
Still chasing after a used Tera and in wanted to know if it is suicide to buy a Tera without the original warranty pdf purchase file…..

Charles wise i mean…..ultimately, if it give up….is there any way to get this thing fixed or will Charles yell at me?

Just drop Charles an email and ask him directly. He is very good about replying quickly to emails.

I guess I posted a little overactive yesterday, sorry about that, this hobby sometimes brings me back to a 16 years old....

Few updates:

Charles didn't really answer my question about being bothered if performing surgery on the Tera but
he stated that in the current package it's simply not possible.
If I understood him correctly, lowering impedance would mean eighter a lower class integrated amp. or
shortening the battery life considerably. To me personally both are no options.......
I guess for using low impedance IEM's amping is the best way then.

So....

Connecting the Fiio E6 to my Tera performed a small miracle (ClieOS actually rated this tiny amp as very decent for it's price).
Combo been playing for about 12 hours now and (even with the simple Fiio supplied interlink) listening with the GR10 brings:
- Very open transparent sound sig., stage is out of the head.
- Describing freq. responses irrelevant, all tracks are "life performances" with all instruments displayed +/- equally.
- This package simply "flows", every piece of music is brought completely effortless, nicely involving.
Maybe I'll try with a different interlink once more, home-set experience has shown in that this stage "it's all in the cables" :-)

Probably (with many thx for bringing it into the spotlight) my final move will be the Vorzüge Pure II.
Nicely matching dimensions and hope to gain in even more effortless reproduction and micro detail.
Hope I won't loose in musicality and live experience.
If anyone interested, will report back here then.

Have a great sunday!

ThaPapper,

There's a lot to be said for enthusiasm and youthful exuberance.

Your `amping' post has inspired me to find my RSA Shadow amp and pair it with my Tera Player again, as they're both approximately the same size and sounded rather good together if memory serves me correctly.

Have fun.

Just noticed the light went out of the price of the Tera Light.
Mine is amongst the "big boys" now, great investment :-)

Very disappointed to hear this. Shouldn't have procrastinated - I really want another Tera and should have picked up a Tera Light while Charles was still selling them for Euro 1650.
