My view is Charles created a great product but IMO is known to be a bit of a character when it comes to the 'audiophile community'.

I had normal one and the Stealth edition.
The later one is slick and is less prone to scratches,and the all black looks very high end,professional.
Well worth it.
But we don't need to worry as the Tera player is build to last a very long time and the battery inside also.
Take that AK series

Tera is home with me,yesterday i used it non stop at work for 6 hours.
Wonderful, the sound can't be described in words.

Best to use Sandisk class 10 sdxc minimum 40 mbps.
Can use up to 128GB formatted FAT32 tested by me.
I don't see why 256GB wouldn't work

My Transcend 128gb class 10 card will have occasional skips or stops and I have to reseat the card to stop it. However my sandisk 128gb class 10 card doesn't have any issues.

It's anecdotal and it could be just bad luck with the Transcend, as I've had good luck in general with those in the past for data storage but I'll stick with sandisk for Tera use.

I bought the 40 Mbps class 10. I formatted to fat 32 on MacBook Pro with disk utility and I didn't change any defaults. I'm using the latest version of Mavericks.

I will not recommend any card for Tera player except Sandisk,as i had Kingston before and it came apart when I used my finger nail to push it in/out of the player.
