Is good to see that this thread is going strong and people do still enjoy the awesome Tera Player.
Just one complain:
Wish Charles bring down the price so i can buy another one as this is the only music player i am really happy with.
Had two in total bought one after the other but I have one now and thinking of purchasing another one in the near future.. When mine will need servicing Charles will upgrade the RAM and the new algorithm programme for shuffle function.Battery should last over 6 years according to the inventor,

Few, if any, have developed problems requiring service. Mine is a very early one and the plugs gradually got quite loose. Charles said that later versions had rubber inserts to prevent that. Mine was hand-carried back to Charles and he updated the jacks as well as the buffer size and random algorithm. It took him only one day. Everything else checked out OK. There were only a few early Tera's that lacked the rubber inserts.

Yeah, when something is built on utmost simplicity, good quality parts and reinforced like a tank, it usually makes for a stable long lasting product that will withstand all kinds of punishment!

Sometimes, it skips to the start of the album, sometimes an album back. Anyone else experiencing this? Does that qualify for servicing?

No that's how it was designed. There is no pause on Tera - any time you stop the track it will start again from the beginning of track. Some people really criticized Charles hard for this (before he was banned) but he did not care to hear it.

I think your case is depends on whether you are playing a file in a main folder or inside a sub-folder. The only problem that sometimes happened was that Tera unable to read an album (the blue light lite up continuously) and need to pull the SD card out and re-insert. Or worse case not reading the album and stuck there (something wrong with the WAV file somehow and reason is unknown). Otherwise the Tera is perfect

None of that. No continuous blue light and it starts playing without any noticeable delay when the play/stop button is pressed but instead of the same track, sometimes it goes to the beginning of that album, sometimes the previous album (I don't remember which track, first or last).

Ok, the last time it happened (yesterday), I was listening to Kerry Muzzey/The Architect/The Secret History (track 4 of 12). Stopped when the flight landed, went through immigration and custom (maybe 20 mins) and restarted Tera. Started playing the previous album Various/Shadows and Light (track 3 of 5). It's strange that it jumped didn't jump to the beginning or end of that album but just arbitrarily to track 3. Since Shadow and Light is very nice (haha) so I let it play. Next thing that happened (and I cannot be 100% sure because I was getting into a cab), I think it jumped to the next album Kerry Muzzey/The Architect, without playing the remaining 2 tracks in the same album!
So to answer your question specifically, The Architect is 1 album folder inside 1 artist folder. Various is (assumedly) 1 artist folder, no album folder, just tracks inside.
I'm going to try to see if I can repeat that later, maybe tomorrow when I head home.
The Pure ll is the right way to go as I never used the two tone adjustment buttons. The reason that I have the Duo was that at the time when I picked up the Vorzuge no Pure was available in store.
