Just ordered one from A2A, the price is the same inc post, and being gen 1 i didn't want to risk having to pay $200 to ship it back to jack to iron out any unforeseen kinks should any arise. Plus the guys at A2A have been really helpful with all this, thanks again Guillaume!

wow i didn't expect so many aussies to be on board with this. like 3 so far on these boards alone :S

Looks like i won't have a one of a kind product at meets. Maybe in adelaide i will at the very least.

Anyone got any ideas as to which power cable and usb cable they're going to be using with it (as jack is not going to include either)

Just a generic USB printer cable and Computer power cable? or something a bit more fancy? I would be happy with a 15% difference either way

I went silver. A2A are shipping with Aussie cords. Unsure of what standard it will be. For me I get more of a sound change using a quality power cable than I do with a quality headphone cable, so ill definitely get something better. For USB I'm unsure as I haven't tried anything but a cheapie. Anyone have more experience here?

I've done a bit of research on usb cables and it appears to be the one topic that starts forum wars between those who have actually bought cables and heard an improvement and those who are adamant that digital 0's and 1's aren't affected by a cable other than if the cable is defective.

however general consensus between those who have actually tried a premium usb cable is that they do improve the sound quality and it appears to be from people who have no affiliation with usb cable producers.

here's a handy link. it appears that the Wireworld starlight is one of the most popular choices. Flat cable and looks very slick. There's a cheaper Ultraviolet variety, but people who have used both seem to say that the starlight is a significant upgrade.

I've been bugging Guillaume of A2A to stock the 0.5m model for the last day or two and when he finally does, I've decided to go for the 1m. He must be livid.
As for the Power cable, I'm also trying to get him to stock the entry-level wireworld stratus and aurora. They seem like great value for the price and it can't hurt to try at such a low asking price.

I'd suggest getting something to isolate the computer's power supply from the USB, assuming the USB power input hasn't been disconnected inside the WA7 before considering fancy cables. That will likely be more beneficial.

wonder if the wa7 has galvanic isolation inbuilt. getting something like this would negatively affect the sound if it has already been implemented
