the album that's always there for you

I absolutely know what this thread is about, but although I have had albums serve that purpose for several years at a time, I'm hard-pressed to think of one today. I think that maybe the closest is OK Computer: not my favourite album but one that always gets me listening when I get bored with other music.

I've never been able to figure it out, but this album has always been a favorite of mine. Easily my favorite live album.

Slowdive, Just for a Day -- if I'm not in the mood for it when it starts, I'm in the mood for it by the time it's over -- it has a very relaxing effect on me. I would almost say it measurably lowers my heart rate and probably blood pressure, only I've never measured it.

In a mellow mood, I always seem to like:
Cowboy Junkies: Trinity Sessions

Sensitive but beautiful voice, great songs, beautiful reverbing (semi-)acoustic instruments, recorded in a church.
