The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread

Just got my Fiio E17 today to complete my E09k + E17 combo to use with my K712's. Got a question for anyone who has the same setup: What settings do you use on the E17 for bass/treble/gain? Lower volume on the E17 and high gain on the E09k, or vice versa? I mainly listen to metal if that makes a difference in EQ preference. I know the best settings are what you prefer but as someone with a poor ear for small differences, I'm sure you fellas here have a better idea than I do. Thanks for any answers ahead of time.

You should be able to bypass the internal amp of E17/E07K when docked to the E09K by switching the switch in LO bypass at the side of your E17. Otherwise, if you wish to keep the EQ best to turn the volume to max on your E17 and use your E09K to control volume.

Hope it helps
Billson :)

I know I said the Annie and the k712 sounded about the same, but somehoew I'm starting to like the 702/65th a little more. Maybe I'll sell my k712.

I'm not a collector, neither an expert. I was just looking for the perfect headphones to do studio work (mixing and "mastering") and now I think I have them, the k702/65th are amazing, and they are more balanced than I tought.

Is yours a late production unit or early? Just check at the serial number and you should be able to tell :)

Has anyone swapped a pair of 701 pads onto the 712? The flat nature combined with the memory foam filling is causing me discomfort after 30 minutes of listening. The only discomfort I ever had with the 701s was the headband bumps after about an hour.

Where is the serial number and how can I tell when it's produced?

Wait. Which model are you mentioning?

I assume your post was directed to my last posts. Mine is the K712 pro. I was saying that AKG may limit for their anniversary edition. But for model 702, I see no reason to limit its production unless no more people are buying it..
