don't get me wrong, i love my k550 because is flat and comfortable, they are great for vocals and acoustic music, i am just saying that dt150 is the superior headphones in comparison, technically is better with warmer tonality

they are not only better than k550 in every aspect in sound,  they literally crush them

Well maybe in the UK they are 96 pounds (or $138.27), but here in the U.S. on Amazon they're $215 + shipping of $7.50. So not cheaper. UK Amazon doesn't ship to the U.S. either.

Yeah, though if they're not comfortable, it's only a matter of time before they become a nuisance. But if that doesn't bother you, then I guess that's cool that you found something you think is better. The looks are alright, not bad. But yeah I'd still take the K550 there too.

dt150 it sounds better yes, the comfort and look are not that nice, but headphones are for music, they are 96 paunds in amazon now

They are only cheaper because the DT150 is currently on sale for 96£ while normal pricing is 119£. The K550 MKII curently cost 111.47£ at a non sale price. I'm not saying they aren't better, I'm simply saying the sale price is hardly a representative price.

On a differnet note, have you listened to the Dt990 as well? just really curious how the DT150 compares to them (I know they are way better than dt770, but so is the dt990).

Yes, i tried dt990 600 ohm version, they are very clean with good soundstage but the sound was a little bit bright for me, dt 150 sound more natural with less treble and more bass, dt150 have small mid bass hump but at the same time the bass is very tight and clean, noting like the bloated bass of Sony MDR 1A for example

I see, in that case I guess I chose correctly going with the Dt990 Pro. I also see that the DT150 would very likely not appeal to people who may like the sound of the k550, simply because the trebble is where they really shine. Personally I love both my k551 and my dt990 Pros, but I really do understand the want for something more substantial in the mids and lows. For example a pair of the headphones I tested when looking at the 990s was a pair of Focal priced roughly the same, and while they delivered substantially more in the bass department I felt that the sound was simply wrong for me (tight bass, but a bit overwhelming). The dt990 Pro on the other hand offers much of what I like with the k551s, just with less sharp highs and more substantial lows.

As for the sonys. Unfortunately I havent tried them yet, but I have been underwhelmed by most offerings from Sony in the same price range (maybe the sound signature is just not my style).

dt150 have better treble than k550

I see so you didn't mean the dt990s were better conveying treble, but simply that they were not as pronounced then? In that case I get what you mean, personally though I still think the k550s are great, but I have yet to actually try the dt150.

the problem with k550 is that there is a ringing in the upper mids, that create a blur in that area and that blur covers a lot of details, in comparison with dt150 the k550 sound blurry and confuse with more complex and fast music tracks, dt150 on other hand is fast and clean sounding and at the same time more powerful in the low end, the result is more natural and detailed sound without unnecessary brightness

dt 990 was too bright for me, but the treble was clean, dt150 has clean treble but with more linear natural quantity
