There isn't more bass, just that it is more textured, tighter and delivers more impact to my ears.

how about power is it more powerful than the ak100ii

is the sound close to ak100ii as i never heard the ak120ii or ak240 or ak380

would i feel that it was a real upgrade

for example when i moved from fiio x3ii to ak100ii it was a huge upgrade

Sorry I don't know what you mean by 'more powerful'. Do you think looking at the output specs will help?

As with all cases, it's best to audition all equipment before purchase.

I'm not sure what he means, either. The output voltage of the 320 is slightly higher than the AK100ii. The Balanced out is the same as AK120ii, while the single-ended out is .1 volts higher.

i do not look at specs, I just rely on users feedback and I promised myself never ever look at specs

so my question was simply if i use the ak320 will it sound more powerful and louder than my ak100ii

Specs aren't good at discerning the quality of the sound you hear, but they are VERY accurate at figuring out driving power.

2 questions if you don't mind:

1) does this mean the 320 portrays more detail than the 240?
2) only in lower octaves or throughout the frequency range?

TIA.

That comment was comparing the AK120II.. but yes I feel it has more detail throughout the frequency range, although it isn't a huge jump vs the AK240. What I think is a bigger difference against the AK240 is that it is more dynamic and the sound has more weight.

anyone can solve the following:-

1) Mac does not recognise the 320;
2) volumn control can be locked?
3) how to download apps
4) pull down menu is not functional when the leather jacket is used

If it had two microSD slots and didn't rely on the completely half-assed Android File Transfer application, and had sorted the SE headphone impedance I'd have been all over it.  Though it would spend at least half of its working life as a transport rather than a full-player.

As for being a bargain ... I suppose that's in the eye/wallet of the beholder.

Having compared the AK380 to a variety of other sources (including my AK120) and a Chord Mojo, I find the AK380 is completely outclassed for less than a third of the price ... albeit you have a two-box solution rather than one.  That the AK320 is cheaper helps, but it's still outclassed by a cheaper combo.

It'll be very interesting to compare the AK players to the Onkyo/Pioneer DAPs ... I'll be surprised if they don't beat out the AK380 also.

Having heard the AK380 recently, I would agree mojo > 380. I would Like to hear: 240, theorem 720 and ALO CDM though-to compare to mojo.

so the bashing continues ...

different people have different taste.  the asians worship durians while europeans puke at the smell of it.  therefore, there is no way to judge which is better than which.  it is a hobby of music appreciation and not the science of baseless judgement.  just go with whatever that work best for you and enjoy the music.

Interestingly, in some places you're not allowed to eat Durians in public because of the smell. They have signs at bus stops etc. And yes it still has a huge following.
