You can buy this micced cable for your Pro 82 - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32810246600.html
It's not as good as GM200's microphone, but clear enough.
In both cases you would experience cross-talk between the headphone and the microphone due to a common ground in the 3.5mm port.
GM200 also has the splitter cable for computers that have separate ports for headphones and microphones - but you need to check if your computer/laptop has them.
You can buy such splitter for Pro 82 too: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32871254953.html

For best voice quality, you'd be better off with a high quality USB microphone:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32934885488.html
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000317943466.html

Microphone won't work with Idea and 99% of Amp/DACs.
Hi, thanks for the tips, benf. Do you know any mic from aliexpress like modmic or vmoda boompro that works with pro 82 and have good quality?

You are welcome!

@ababa bought this boom mic and it worked fine for him: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32869874501.html
Unfortunately, it's no longer in stock :slight_frown:
I've found a similar cable here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000689347580.html

Alternatively, you can try a lavalier mic: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32893939303.html

I have had the pro 82 for a few months now and they are great, I had a few issues with the left ear cup being a bit loose and making noise when moving my head but I think I fixed it but now I'm having an issue which has confused me, There is a slight rattle within both of the ear cups and I'm not sure when it does it rarely, I believe it could be hairs or something by the driver but the pro 82 doesn't allow me to clean the hairs out if it was that as the ear cups are glued on. Anyone got any ideas? Thank you :)

I own some CM mh751...amazing headphones. Wanted to try the v2 of the Pro 82s and saw some online here PRO 82s (looked in rules hopefully this is ok to post)

Is there anyway to tell if these are version 1 or 2? I would really like the v2 as Iv read it sounds exactly like the mh751 which I love but use for work every day.
The Walmart listing says 2.2m cable, so it should be v0.9 - Cheap Pro 82 v0.9 - stay away!!!
Better buy one from TakstarAudio: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32808454492.html

My Pro 82 v2 sounds much better than my MH751, especially with synergy combos - Comparison of DACs/Amps

Do the Takstar Official Stores (the ones linked here) consistently sell the v2? Their official amazon.ca store confirmed that it comes with a 1.6m cable but wouldn't explicitly tell me if they were selling the new version.

(I know the recommendation here is TakstarAudio but they only offer C$45 DHL shipping to Canada, and wouldn't offer any other shipping method when I contacted them.)

The aliexpress store run by Takstar specifically says it is the new model in the picture.

Here's the listing from the Takstar Official Store linked from their website and it doesn't say that, unless I'm missing it. The TakstarAudio store (which I mentioned in my last post) is the only one that explicitly claims to sell the new version.

Also, I may be confused because I'm new to the thread, but people seem to think that TakstarAudio is their official store, but it's not the one linked from their company website. Are we sure it's not just a distributor?

You are correct. I looked through the app and it had little black text in the top right of each pictures saying ships with new model.

The linked stores should be selling v2, but TakstarOfficial has a 2.2m cable in the description, which is only right for v1 and v0.9.
Hopefully this is a mistake - you can ask them to check the actual length and fix the description.

TakstarOfficial only offers Pro 82 with a box for 65.54$ and Aliexpress Standard Shipping to Canada for 21.76$ - total is 87.3$.
TakstarAudio has the box-less version for 60.70$, minus the 4$ coupon (see the first post for details) and DHL shipping for 31.02$ - total is 87.72$
For only 42 cents extra, you will have it delivered in 3-4 days instead of 3-4 weeks - I think it's worth it

Oh hi. It's been awhile hasn't it? How fares the world of audiophilia? Well, in between getting a new job, losing it, and finding another job a month later I found that those infamous Krone Kalpasmos earpads have been out of stock for months now! I can't just leave you guys hanging like that now can I? After a lot of searching I finally found a couple of pads that will work well with the Pro 82 that will keep you cool in record heat (*cough*Arizona*cough*). And most unfortunately the recent quest caused me to wreck the right side microphone of my H.E.A.R.S. so getting accurate measurements is that much tougher. Any graphs I post are the left channel only and you might want to take them as a grain of salt even though my eyes, ears, and mind all seem to agree with each other.

Yaxi MSR7 Comfort Pads: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P17DDZN - $40 USD + S&H

Famous for their Koss PortaPro/KSC75 foam pads, these pads take a walk on the extravagant side with Alcantara on the cups while being pleather on the inside (and on the sides too so collected oils don't bleed onto the surface when you put down the headphones).

These pads can still get toasty inside the cup, but it allows the sweat to get off my skin so you can keep them on a lot longer.

Installing these on the Pro 82 is no joke. You'll need to stretch out those plastic lips significantly before you can get the plastic rings around the pads! Patience is a virtue; you WILL break those plastic rings in two if you try to wrap the pads on right out of the box (fortunately for me, my plastic ring just shot across the room but still - could have been much worse). You can stretch out the lips by wrapping the pads around the Pro 82 drivers without the rings or foam. Once you get the pads wrapped around the plastic rings, you should put the stock foam filters in - unless you want to have the vocals amplified and the bass muted...It doesn't sound as bad as you would think!

Finally, you'll have to carefully snap the rings back on with the pads, you'll need to go into a rotating motion to align three clamps on one side and then carefully snap down the other three (while tugging the pad a bit to clear the way for the ring). Yeah I wonder if I need to do a video on this bit. Of course, you can also cut away some of those lips to clear the way for the clamps - just make sure you know you like them first before you do that in case you need to return them.

When the foam filters are installed, the pads give a sound with less bass but the midrange gets a lift and the treble doesn't get harsh.

I would recommend these for those who want a more midrange-focused experience - and for those who have the patience and finesse to get these things on the Pro 82. These are easily the most expensive pads I ever recommended but they do provide a unique experience I've heard in no other set of pads. Totally worth it if this is the sound you want.

For a little less money (but not much) you can check out the Dekoni Jerzee pads: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087HDF6D6 $30 USD

The mesh makes these one of the most breathable pads I've ever put on. These are also easy to install. Just use the stock foam and rings and wrap the pads around the whole cup. That's it.

These do give an interesting sound...I feel like the sound stage is a tad wider and while the graph isn't showing it, I feel the bass better on these than the stock pads. Maybe I need a haircut or something. Otherwise the treble and midrange sound close enough to stock. I should mention that they isolate better than you would think too! I'm going to call these the "party pads" for the Pro 82 - perfect if you're taking these on DJ gigs - oh...yeah...those venues are still cancelled aren't they?

I wish I had more (cheaper) pads I could recommend. I mean, there are these that I think I originally said they wouldn't work but they can (if you wrestle with the rings as you would in the Yaxi pads) but I would sometimes find the treble quite sharp. https://www.amazon.com/Krone-Kalpasmos-Replacement-MDR-7506-Headphones/dp/B07N6GL2PG

Hope everyone stays safe!

That's been covered in here, it's a headset with the Pro 80 driver. Unclear if anyone's reviewed it as yet.

Which reminds me: @BenF, how goes the ML850?
I've been too busy to finish the ML850 review in the past few weeks, hopefully will have more time soon.
Spoiler alert - it's not a Pro 82/GM200 with Bluetooth...
