Symphonium Titan - Impressions and reviews

Very Valid point, but I was talking about in general and at that price point! I should have been more specific. there are a few niggles about the Z1R, like fit for 1, that I have to take into consideration when comparing.

Strong agree about the comparison here. I demo'd both the Scarlet Mini and the Titan. I described the Scarlet Mini as "brain-melting bass" while the Titan was truly subwoofer-like. There was impact and texture in the Titan that was substituted for pure power in the Scarlet Mini. Definitely benefits from a strong source though. My Q5K powered it, but didn't perform like the stack that Symphonium provided for demoing. Surely one to look out for.
I 2nd the comparisons between the Titan and the Scarlet Mini here - to me, the Scarlet Mini was the epitome of bombastic and nasty bass. Probably really good for Hip-hop libraries where texture doesn't matter as much, just quantity. But for everything else, the tactile feeling of that Sub-bass in the Titan is extremely unique. Especially at the Kilobuck price point. When they release, I doubt anything will be able to touch them for overall quality across the board.

While I'd generally like to stay away from directly comparing to other competitor's products, I can safely say that the Titan does not have such a huge bass shelf compared to the Scarlet Mini (comparing just from graphs alone).

That is to say we did try to go for something that substantial in the really early prototypes of Titan but we found it muddy in general and the bass lost a lot of texture as a result on top of overwhelming most of the other frequencies

The current tuning is a dial back from the early prototype and a really nice compromise of bass quantity vs quality IMHO.

Can't wait to release the Titan's graph in the coming weeks!

Looking at the cable, is it any similar to the Nightjar Blue Hour cable? It appears the same....

Good eye, but nah - the color might be similar but it is a completely different cable!

As long as you guys haven't touched the tuning since CanJam last week, I won't be complaining :sunglasses:

Hmm...that's what I read so many times, and I was really sceptical that I had made a mistake by ordering a pair.
But, man,...Fit issues??? I have a perfect fit.
Yes, they are bigger, but the fit is great, to me...and now, with new Penon's tips...the seal is just perfect, too.
Hmm...

Hey, man, fit is as subjective, if not more than sound preferences. Ya know? I've never tried the Z1R, I'm just going off of the overwhelming majority of people talking about the fit issues.

It might have been mentioned before, but I'm curious about fit on this since I have issues with a lot of IEMs.
I had no issues with fit, have you ever tried any other IEMs from Symphonium? Or even 64 Audio? Very similar.

Have not tried any of Symphonium's. I had a Duo and U6t for a hot second each. I liked both and merely got caught up in the continuous world of moving to something else, but 64 Audio are one of the few brands that I consistently have few to no problems with because of the small shells.

The Crimson is not big like the Z1R. I don’t have a problem with the fit of the Sony. Though the weight makes it impractical to walk around with. Thieaudio offerings like the Monarch III and Prestige LTD are larger than the Crimson.

If you're familiar with the rounder shape and finish of the 64 Audio stuff, then the Symphonium stuff should have no quarrels with your ears, brother. The Meteor is a tiny thing, super small and easy to fit (Pressure build up issues aside), the Crimson is a touch larger but still, no issues. From memory, the Titan is very similar to the Crimson so I can't imagine too many people will have issues with the fit.

Exactly, that's what I said/wrote; fit for me is good...because you wrote in general issues about fit and Z1R :)
Otherwise, I wouldn't even write a reply :)

Cheers!
Fair enough! I hope to try the Z1R one day, and I would hope that they fit me!

The Helios SE, Crimson and Titan all have identical shells in terms of dimensions

Correct. The Helios SE faceplate may have slightly different thickness but the general dimensions of the shell otherwise are similar.

@ZeroChad am I supposed to wear the meteor so that the shells fit flush against the concha? Same question for helios. I got dizzy with the helios when the nozzle goes that dip. For the meteor, I haven’t found any tips that seal well enough for a flush fit

Edit: a helios with shorter nozzles sounds like a good idea. Looking forward to hearing titan and crimson
