After working perfectly with my Fiio Q7 since January, my PL50 suddenly died the other day. (I bought it new on eBay from a site in California and have no idea if any warranty applies.) It simply won't turn on now (I've tried different power cords and outlets). Is there anything I could do to possibly revive it? Could changing the fuse help and is there any way to visually check if the fuse needs replacing? (I'm extremely ignorant about the workings of electronic gear; it appears from info on the backplate that the correct fuse is a T10AL/250V, which appears to be very cheap.)

Try changing the fuse first. Not sure if there is a way to inspect the fuse visually, but the fuses are cheap and can be found on Amazon.

Yes, your next troubleshooting step is to change the fuse.

Fuses can be inspected visually (if it has a clear housing) - just remove the fuse and look for a thin wire running in the middle. If the wire is continous, no breaks - then the fuse is ok and there's something else that's wrong.

If you see a broken wire, then the fuse is blown - just replace it and hopefully that's the only issue (it usually is)

Dear friend,

Sorry to hear about that. You could try to return the fuse for help first. If you could not find a proper fuse, you could contact support@fiio.com about that.
We apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime!

Best regards

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the housing of my fuse is not transparent but opaque white. But packs of 20 are <$10 on Amazon, so I'll pick one up and see if it helps.

I should have noted that the Q7 continues to work fine and sound great with the stock power supply.

edit: so the alimentation cable of the pl50 is way shorter than the cable of my k7, what are the specs for the alimentation cable so i can get one at least double the length?
I use a standing desk which makes the pl50 as of now totally useless...
Please help me

Mine from April has the same issue. No power on turn on yesterday. Got a couple fuses and the first one blew almost immediately. I sent an email to support but haven’t heard anything yet. Surprising on an essentially new unit.

Dear friend,
1. only DC output 5.5x2.1mm, and the K7 is 2.1mm.
2. left pin +, right pin -.

So left pin + right pin - means on the gx16 cable connector or the actual connector pin on pl50
Kinda confused
Does it mean I should get cable with pin2 + ,pin1 - ?

Best regards

Dear friend,

Did you replace the correct fuse(@T 250V 1A H 5.2x20mm) but the PL50 could not be turned on still?
If yes, please contact support@fiio.com with the receipt attached. Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Not this cable. The other one :)
Dear friend,

The power cable for PL50 is using standard specifications. You could find a high quality one from Aliexpress or Amazon for help.

Best regards
