Some time back, I had the Omega on demo. Sadly, the headband decided to snap one day. There were some delays but finally, thanks to @Uncle Wilson and Claire from Jaben SG, it was sent to Benson from ES Labs HK (who are also the makers of the ES-1a, the ES-R10 and the ES-Sigma. It was a quick repair and turnaround by Benson using the headband for the ES-1a. I am currently on the road and look forward to picking it up from Jaben SG when I get home in a couple of weeks. But I am grateful to Benson for his great work.

The Omega is home from ES Labs HK! Now for some listening. Benson was kind enough to replace with NOS Omega cables as well.

Going rate for a decent one are usually 8k or over.one for sale currently ~$6.5K on yahoo auctions

This is a low number one 44, the better one to get (anything lower than 300 are the ones to get)
If you factor all the cost
6.5K plus japanese 10% tax, shipping is $200 (that how much it cost me for my one) maximum they declare is 3K so you will be tax 10% or what ever it is in your country.
Considering all that, the total comes to 6.5K+0.65K + 0.2K + 0.3K = 7.65K
Still a reasonable buy IMO

The large holographic stage, imaging and vocals are amazing on this headset. I heard one on BHSE. It just has an intensity, finesse and euphonic nature that is addictive.Going rate for a decent one are usually 8k or over.

I would personally take it over any 009/s, x9000, Susvara, Bravura, sr1a, he60 setup I have heard.
* Buying one might be a gamble, but definitely worth the asking price! I wish there were more available out there! Stax, just make another classic omega

Stuff on Yahoo Japan have been pretty good from my experience. The description of the item and working condition are on point from all of my purchase in the last 7 years. The large holographic stage, imaging and vocals are amazing on this headset. You're finding pretty much match what I hear except my listening was on the DIY T2.

Agree on the state of gear sold on Yahoo JP. They are pretty upfront on any shortcomings. And generally most of the gear look very gently used. No complaints thus far on my forays.Stuff on Yahoo Japan have been pretty good from my experience. But I feel we’re even lucky they tried and did the x9000.

It's excluding the DIY T2 which isn't shortchanging.The $6.5k is including tax.
