Open Box sale. The Beyer pads are at the bottom. Apparently the coupon July4 still works, which gives 14% off.

I recently compared the HP100 to some other headphones and strangely while the subbass is very clear and defined, the upper bass is a bit bloated and lacks detail. I'll get some Dynamat and see how it works out. I also consider spraying the cups matte-black (TH600 inspired).

Were these ever measured anywhere? I'd love to see a waterfall chart of the bass region.

If you ever do spray them matte black I'd be very interested in seeing the results.

I'll post them for sure. It's probably the only mod i will be doing, after trying some blue tak it altered the bass/(upper)mids/treble relationship for the worse.

I'll use Tamiya TS-6 (matte black) paint. It  will look like this:

I found a japanese retail store (dmr!) sold HP-100 for 17800JPY (~180USD)... Maybe the best price in the world? :)

Btw I asked Soundmagic about the price of the straight cable for HP-100 (it's actually the cable for HP-200)... It's 16.5USD + shipipng cost.

My Softskin pads will get here around Thursday or Friday, so I can get a good first impression by then. To answer the question above, I presume the zmf modified t50rps are the Mad Dogs, which I have not heard and don't attempt to hear anytime soon due to lack of funds. On the other hand, I still have my M50s, and the HP100s are a complete level above those IMO. M50s are overrated to me with the recessed mids, bad soundstage, loose bass, and overall muddled sound. Yet again, if you ask many other people, they swear by the M50s. I'm just not one of them.

Exactly my thoughts on the M50 too
