Sound Rhyme impression thread

Guys, idk - this question keeps haunting me: should I upgrade the DTE900's cable to, let's say, Hakugei Bifrost or something from Effect Audio catalogue? I've read @Leonarfd review of Cadmus/Ares/Eros set from Effect Audio and I recall that for rock/metal music the best choice from this set would be Ares - am I right? Does any of you have experience in this matter?
First of the cables have a minimal effect on the sound, I often find more change in sources than I do with cables. Stock cable of DTE900 isn't that bad, a good option if you want to just try something different of high quality check out the Juzear Limpid cable(more or less same quality as Cadmus 4w).

Another good option for a pure copper is the Cema Raven, similar to have Ares is.

Thanks @Leonarfd. Do you know any good cable (beside Dunu) with L-shaped 4.4mm jack?

Thanks again, @Leonarfd! Isn't Artti kind of a sub-brand of Letshuoer?

Hello how are the Vocals on the Sound Rhyme DTE 900 against the Moondrop Variations iam looking for upfront powerful female vocals with good emotions i have to choose Variations against the DTE 900. Or are vocals laid Back or Mixed together Same strength? is the fit Like Hype 2 or bigger? And is the Bass more in the Background so the vocals are more clear? Thanks i need Advices. But After Reading all Sites Not many stated the vocals and how can you compare to vocal strong iems. RSV and Oracle OG?

Female vocals is a little thick on DTE900, Variation would be cleaner and more transparent for it. So depends what you want, but I don't see dte900 as a vocal specialist. Since bass is big it can sound a little wrong if your used to flatter mid-range.

In my opinion if you want transparent and forward vocal, one of the best sets you can get now is Canpur CP32E.

Personally I like something like Hisenior Mega5EST for vocal, as its clean and not shouty.

There is plenty of sets that are good for female vocals, so you can get hundreds of different sets reccomended depending on who you ask.

My DTE 900 eartips, small size, broke. Anyone know what size the connection is to slip it on? Thought I'd go Spinfit
It is a normal type of nozzle, so whatever you buy should work. Stick tips are the same as Penon use on their models.

It depends on the source - I'm using DX320 and can't tell that female vocals on DTE900 are thick (rather big) or untransparent. On the other hand, the lushness of DTE900 can be an obstacle for someone who seeks vocals as a dominant part of music.

Thanks now that helps more out i have fear too that the Bass is too much. I have the Hype 2 and with normal Tips the Vocals are so Bad because everything Else is too strong but with Spinfit W1 the vocals are rich and powerful and i can enjoy. iam looking for the next step my referance would be the DIVA Tuning. I also got ea 1000, Sennheiser ie 200 who are both have good vocals but Not outstanding. The Variations are great the vocals are not so heavy you feel like floating in the Clouds everything Else is nice in the Background Just the right amount Not to make the vocals hard to hear the Soundstage is Like on a Concert. The clearity is so good but i need to listen more if in 1 week i still like them or send them Back i have to decide but for me they are Special i bet Not many Sound like them. I heard that the vocals are good at the dte 900 but If the the vocals get unclear because the rest is overwhelming i dont know If i will like them. Anybody can compare Them to Hype 2 with normal tips? I will look after used canpur they seem very interesting but Kinda Underdogs Like the dte 900. Because of the energetic and fun Tuning i will probally like them too the Sennheiser ie200 are for me a fun and energetic Tuning and i Like them alot.

Undiscovered Hidden Gem
This Gem SR5 deserves an own thread

Disclaimer: I praised the shop owner and shared this thread as an gateway of introduction of Sound Rhyme, and the shop owner linked this thread URL on item description. It may be confusing so I can declare that I’m not affiliated with any store/brands nor getting any kick backs. It’s pure personal purchase and personal feel of obligation to publicize this hidden gem, as it’s very high performing.

Sound Rhyme just opened Official AE Store: you may find more up-to-date info on their Official store:
https://sl.aliexpress.ru/p?key=kYMqwXG

Based on my study, Sound Rhyme is not a new brand to Chinese Local audiophiles. They are like AFUL, a hidden gem, but with much longer history serving IEMs.

Sound Rhyme uses ENVISIONTEC 3D printer for modeling, like AFUL did for their Performer 5, the unique bass range internal resonator chamber.

They are situated at Xiamen and probably one of less known IEM OEM to western market so far.

Sound Rhyme business registration and copyright registration. Formed back in 2017, copyright obtained 2019z

Lab and workshop pictures

They have several line ups as below:

SR-Q1S - 9.2mm Titanium coated single DD: $53USD

Formerly SR02 (Now SR4 )- 4BA: Store Link (non affiliated)
Knowles 22955 + Knowles 29689
Belsing 31736 (2BA) : $96USD. U-tuned.

SR03 - 4BA + 1DD
1DD+Sonion 689x2(mid)+Knowles31736x2(mid to high)
760CNY = 120USD in local market, available thru Aliexpress distributor Yi Fan 4.4 (huo guang shu/huo guang store) around $139USD.

SR5 4way crossover! 1DD+Knowles ED29689x2(mid)+Knowles31736x2(mid to high) 750CNY = 109USD in local market, available thru Aliexpress distributor Yi Fan 4.4 (huo guang shu/huo guang store) around $139USD.
[3/14/2023: Penon is now serving SR5 too! https://penonaudio.com/sound-rhyme-sr5.html ]
This is my recommendation. Photo-luminescent like qdc Anole V14, sound like Thieaudio’s high-end class, with very affordable pricing.

Formerly SR04-144E (They renamed to DTE500/900) Tribrid 1DD 4BA 4EST? (4800CNY = 630USD) — basically qdc Anole VX ‘s tribrid version. I’m interested in this.
Information wanted.
Sound Rhyme actually discounted to $499USD.

Penon started to become Sound Rhyme official agent and they have DTE500 @ $459: https://penonaudio.com/sound-rhyme-dte500.html

DTE500 uses EIVEC voltage amplifier which was developed by Empire Ears for their EST models, and DTE500 uses EIVEC in powering Sonion EST.

SR-8: Full-BA Flagship 14BA with 2tuning switches (4300CNY = 618USD) — In Local Chinese Market only, likely full Sonion & Knowles. GS Audio ST10 is $430 with 10BA and full knowles and sonions, so this 14BA with this bare price is making a good sense)

Official store has it but the price is 1110USD😞

[3/28/2023 Edit] Penon started to sell SR8 @$749, great job for not going highballing👏
https://penonaudio.com/sound-rhyme-sr8.html

I’ve purchased SR5 out of whim after watching a Russian IEM YT review channel’s video, the guy knows HEXA and had high praise for SR5, so I know that was a good starting point.

Here is initial impression.

It will be a great loss if this gem is kept in undiscovered dungeon‘s jewelry box.

From my experience of SR05, they make very solid offers that is comparable to well known companies such as Thieaudio.

Hope they have more access and distribution channels to overseas, but as for now it will be one of Niche that may intrigue your interest.

I find myself interested on in their line up as much I do for Truthear.
Speaking of hidden gems,
has anybody tried the Sound Rhyme SR4 (previously designated Sr02)?

4xBAs, all Knowles, 2 tuning switches, choice of MMCX or 0.78 2Pin, shell colour custom options.

Slightly cheaper than even the ISN AUDIO H30, which on the face of it seems a bargain.

Hm. Might be interesting. I could use a full BA for my collection.

Just ordered a set with MMCX connectors. 3 days to 3D print, assemble, QC, pack and prepare for despatch.
