$369.00 Sound Rhyme SR7 6 BA + 1 DD Universal IEM
$149.00 Sound Rhyme SR5 4 BA + 1 DD Universal IEM
$299.00 The HiSenior Okavango 6 BA + 1DD Universal IEM
$239.00 The HiSenior Mega5P 4 BA + 1 DD Universal IEM
Doing a few comparisons later today for the SR5. I have only reviewed one other Sound Rhyme IEM, the SR7. Still so far the little $149.00 SR5 is quite the underdog?
Sounding like a way more expensive IEM.
Here I'm matching the SR5 with the Penon ASOS+ cable, Sony WM1Z with MrWalkman's firmware and Penon Liqueur Ear-Tips. A great set-up, I must say!

SR7 has dark, cold, soft sound, without extra bass or treble. Resolution is just good for the price. It's very pleasant and quite precise in terms of timbre.
Just like described above, except I don’t hear any cold? Big, giant feeling of all the drivers firing at once! I mean the Neo 5 wins out on the SR7 with stage and vocals (even realism) and the way it just is. I don’t really rate them by Bass amount like some do? Where the SR7 has a congealed, and (still like above said) a little soft on the edges, but that’s the magic.......the personality. I mean to me there is no other IEM like the SR7? Read my SR7 review.
I was wondering why my DTE500 was sounding soo boring. That's what I get for using the stock cable again. A simple cable switch to a XINHS cable fixed that.
Looks like there will be some good AE discount codes next week... Could get $80 off the DTE900 with a coupon, on top of any anniversary sale discounts. It would be my first tribrid if I went for it. Couple of questions:
Does anyone know how the DTE900 stacks up against the Tansio Mirai X Anniversary? That's currently my most resolving set, and probably my favourite alongside the Penon Quattro. I use EQ quite a bit so am always happy to adjust bass, add warmth, push mids forward etc as needed (I prefer lush mids so think I will like the DTE900's tuning), so it's the impact of those 4 ESTs I'm really interested in.
How does the spring sale tend to stack up vs the 11.11 sale? Wondering if it would be more sensible to wait until then or not.
I was way too high when I noticed the lettering on my SR8 case had moved. Actual footage from the moment:
lol. Hopefully they can have their cases etched in the future. I haven't listened to my SR8 in a while, so it's been nice revisiting it today. Still a very, very nice IEM. And no hiss with DX260. I like it best with both switches down. Neutral-bright with laid back bass and nice smoothness all around. And I still perceive the stage to be quite wide. There's a bit of BA timbre, that's about my only nitpick. That and the hiss with several sources.
Welcome back, Leonasj! You should try to learn how to read graphs of IEMs, mate. Knowing your preference in the unbeatable, masterful, untouchable FX15, the DTE900 will likely be too warm for your taste. But DTE900 is indeed energetic
