Hi guys,

I was hoping someone here could shed some light on this... I'm considering the wireless Sennheiser RS180 - however I'm concerned about how much sound quality you will be compromising?

What would the sound quality of the RS180 be like, compared to say the Audio Technica M50 that everyone seems to rave about??

I would appreciate if anyone who has some experience with these could help me?

Thanks,

Zac

I have never listened to a wireless headphone that had good SQ. I even tested out like, 30 or so wireless, blutooth and whatnot at a convention and none of them were even equal to a wired headphone.

I would guess that you wold notice the lack of obnoxious bass and more movies and games type of listening.

I was considering this a few months ago, but could not find any "audiophile" reviews on it. What eventually made me shy away from it was the comments on build quality -- too plasticy for the price.

I know you didn't ask, but I eventually ended up with Astro Gaming MixAmp 5.8. This allows me to use whatever headphones I want to use (provided it can be powered with 70mW@32ohm), and also use a mic when I want to -- all the while being practically wireless. I tested my music and my newb ears could not find any difference at all playing my music using the mixamp vs directly connected to my PC's sound card.

What were those wireless headphones that Jude had review on Head-Fi TV?  Check out that episode, he says good things.

EDIT:  Just a warning, the headphones he mentioned were retailing for like... $400?  I forgot exactly, but if you have a tight budget, don't bother, they were pricey for a man on a budget.

Budget isn't too much of a concern for me ($400 is okay) but value for money is important... I don't mind paying approx twice as much for wireless as long as they sound just as good!!!

I liked the Rs180 a lot. The KLEER transmission link is very good. They're the best wireless cans I've heard. I would recommend them.
