It's impressive how well these headphones stand up to used sales. I got mine used as well and it's practically impossible to tell. They're built like a tank, I think.Just arrived!

Well I absolutely love the sound signature. Boris Brejcha sounds incredible!

How do they compare to your other headphones?Man, now I'm gonna have to look into the z1r. Love the sony sound.
I love them. The z7 are warm, treble is smooth and the bass is extraordinary. It's up there with the best of them for sure. And the build quality is excellent as well. How do they compare to your other headphones?

Envious!
How does the Z7 compare to the Z1R over this setup?
Well actually I was surprised as I had the MDR-Z1R first. Found the MDR-Z7 and decided to give it a try. The MDR-Z1R has a more spread out and detailed response. Yet for many reasons the Z7 holds it’s own. It scales up as well as performs like the Sony Flagship it was/is. It’s kind of old-school and classic, yet we can’t forget it’s the new Sony house sound. I know you have a Z7, but stating this as that’s the reflection you get owning the Z1R.
It’s probably more like the Denon AHD7000, where the Z1R has a bigger overall sound (really in another league in ways). The Z7 and Z1R are close to the same and also different depending on what part of their personality you concentrate on. The the Z7 is easy to wear and ergonomic; Z1R....just big. Strangely it maybe seems the MDR-Z1R is easy to make sound good, where the Z7 is actually demanding and finicky about amplification? Z7 is more direct at you where the Z1R has a politeness about it.
Z7 has this localized bass area that’s easy to grasp, where the Z1R has a bass place which seems all over. Same as the treble, where the Z1R has a more spread out and refined lush treble, the Z7 has an endearing placement and simplicity. Both can be their own correct.
I don’t think I’ve ever come across a headphone made like the Z7? The fit and finish is special to me?

The Z7's are extremely inviting-sounding, lousy photo notwithstanding. Highly underrated.
