The other amplifier was the UDA-1...not the IPod.  The IPod was for fun.

Amazon UK says October 20th
 
Sony NL: delivery date between November 18th and November 19th. BTW these dates have been the same for at least 6 weeks.
Sony DE: same dates as NL.
Sony UK: "This product is currently out of stock. We don't have an exact date when it will be available again".

Well, may estimated delivery date from Amazon is between 10/8 and 10/16, and it hasn't shipped yet.  So, that ain't going to happen.  I have a feeling I will get an email from Amazon tomorrow, with a new estimate...

Nice! Please compare them to your HE-6. I've got HE-500s and I'd love to get something with a similarly great sound quality but much improved weight, comfort, and build quality. I'm hoping the Z7s can be those headphones

NZ gets lumped with AU, it should start distributing in Nov.
Since the price is in line with the press release document, I wouldn't be surprised if it was priced 1k+ in NZ.

Interesting, Sony Australia has the Z7 listed on their website for $799. That is why I am wondering if you got it there.
