 I'm interested on how the NWZ-A17 will stack up with the Fiio X5, Hidizs AP100 and iBasso DX50. Obviously the NWZ-A17 beat them in Battery Life, but how about in SQ? If the A17 outpaces the others just listed, then this will be the Ultimate DAP for $300. Unless if the UI has issues.

What are you talking about? Would be nice to see R10 level headphones from Sony, but I don't believe it will ever happen...

I am stunned and stoked Sony have finally made a Walkman with a microSD card slot.theoretically it should hold (with a 128gb card) 192gb and if it sounds on par with the F series then its going to be amazing.sure some people will lament the lack of a touchscreen,wi fi and android,but for a dedicated high def music player for only $300 I think Sony may have just put themselves back on the map stateside.
Edit - according to Sony blog they go on sale in November!

apparently not,it seems it is more like the older style A , E or S series in that it only runs the Sony native player software (according to the C-Net review) but with some benefits the older models were lacking (such as high res file playback,micro sd card slot,support of lossless formats etc).not sure why Sony decided to ditch the touchscreen,wi fi and android other than to keep the player more affordable maybe.
