Loving these IEMs, oh man Z5s are the best things i have ever bought , a month witth them and i can say i love how they sound and image things.

I know these aren't exactly neutral but to my ears and classical music they sound pretty balanced out there's no harsh trebles nor boombastic bass, just right and the soundstage wow

I heard a track of organ music by J.L. Krebs these reed pipes and they maintained clarity with respect to the carillon bells

Maybe it is better than the old connector, but without the stopper.

Will have to wait for the actual cable to be released to know.

I won't be testing it on mine, I wait for another person to test it for us

better avoid the risk of damaging the MMCX connector

as you like, but Z5 excellent headphones that I had to listen to.

They are good, but was looking for better seal and next level of sound. Can't listen properly even with just a small fan in front of me, or while taking a train. Only in a quiet room can I hear small subtle difference of the Z5 vs my B&O H3 IEM, which is not what I would like to use the IEM for.

JH has improved their top end alot, much better than my JH16pro, and much much better than my Z5 obviously.

BTW, the B&O H3 anc is designed with a 10.8mm dynamic drivers, and it has very very similar sounding as the Z5. Under usual environment, I can't tell a difference between both.

Anyone who bought this for Z5? I'm looking for a cheap cable alternative as I commute to work most of the time.

The seller seems reliable though.

How do you compare the z5 with ie800 and some fullsize headphone like hd650?

I don't own either of the two you mentioned but to me as i've Heard a Fischer Audio setup (1992 era system) and the Z5s sound like that profesional speaker setup (tested on a German friend's house)

If you mean the L type plug TRS female to TRRS male, i found it on amazon for roughly 5 bucks. It works. In fact it came in two pairs.

I asume you want to connect the XBA-Z5 using the cable with only one plug i bet... it wont work balanced because TRS is "legacy stereo" or SE, for balanced or TRRS you would need to either recable XBA-Z5s or get a cable like the one you mention but with 2 TRS females to one TRRS male and then use the other cable that came with your Z5s
