I just got my Hugo 2 yesterday but I have not had a chance to listen to it with my Sony Z1R's yet. I did enjoy them with the Mojo when I had it. So I imagine the Hugo 2 will probably outclass it with it feature set.Does anyone own a Hugo 2 and this headphone? I'm looking for opinions if this would pair well with the Hugo 2.

I do and love it! The only unit to pair better with the Z1R in my travels is the DAVE, so yeah, the Hugo 2 is still very much a brilliant option!
Thanks for killing my wallet. I just bought both.
I had a brief listen to the Z1R's with the Hugo 2 today and in one word, brilliant. The Hugo 2 is in complete control of this headphone and it is one musical experience. I had a hard time putting the Z1R's down.

Congrats!!!! I love this combination!!!

Does anyone else feel like the Z1R sometimes imparts some kind of "magic" to audio experience. It's hard to explain but with some tracks I feel like the beat and melody transcends your skull, and your auditory and cognitive senses enter perfect harmony with a very floaty spacious soundstage.
The strange thing is it doesn't happen with all tracks and seems to be equally applicable to lo-res (320kbps mp3) and hi-res.
I could just be tripping, but sometimes it just feels like an out of body experience with the soundtrack., which I don't recall experiencing with any other headphone or speakers to this extent.
I'm confident the Z1R is creating this sense with its effortless reproduction of even the most complicated of audio.

Z1R has abundant sub bass so the sound could be penetrable when it needs to.Does anyone else feel like the Z1R sometimes imparts some kind of "magic" to audio experience. I don't know, but when I put them on, time melts away. I avoid them when I need to be task oriented and time is of the essence.Does anyone else feel like the Z1R sometimes imparts some kind of "magic" to audio experience. I would agree that they do fantastic with low rez AAC or MP3, even down to 128kbs through Yamaha RX AV digital processing.

I said this before, but you guys are reminding me of Zeos' review when he described the headphones as "therapeutic", that was a classic comment LOL

The Z1R sound is Transcendent. (IMHO...)
Try them with the Nordost Heimdall II cable. The sound sublime!
