How do they affect ANC?
Can’t complain, as I say I hardly ever have to go over 50% volume on my iPhone in any situation and I always use anc except if I’m walking and there is a lot of wind in which case I use Off. I never use Ambient except by manually oressing on the left bud for a short period. I have never tried these or the XM3 with foam tips

I use the Xelastic tips, size L, and they provide a perfect seal for my ears. They passively block so much ambient sound that ANC is even more effective. Most importantly, they still fit in the charging case.

Yes indeed, for me the Zelastec tips just totally deformed within days of use and were unuseable after that. The Crystal on the other hand don’t do that

Thanks! Currently I use IEM and I like it better than headphones, they are more portable smaller etc. One thing I still afraid is the foam tip. I use Azla tip for my IEM and I've heard it's good with the xm4.
Wait for the SMTW3 this month for review as they are getting released soon and see what they offer. I am hoping they have improved the ANC and mids over the SMTW2

Plus they go soft and loose the grippyness after 2-3days, so Im thinking about trying the normal crystal versions instead as they shouldnt go all soft, but Im guessing there quite abit harder than the Xelastec tips, and may make my ears sore?

I’ve never had comfort problems with any type of tip I’ve used the last nearly 25 years. On the other hand I’m totally unable to use any old fashioned earbud

I hope for you that the SMTW3 are everything that the XM4 weren’t for you, and for the rest of us that have found the XM4 a pleasure to use that the SMTW3 are another opportunity to get even more features and sound quality - onwards and upwards!

What is exactly the SMTW3? I've tried to google it but found nothing.
Sennheiser Momentum true wireless 3, the presumed next generation of Sennheiser’s in ear

There was nothing wrong with the xm4 for sound and anc just bad build quality and to many faulty units.

I have the XM4 and I don't have any issues. Only had the left bud issue (no sound) once, but it didn't happen after the last firmware update.

I have also had zero issues with my XM4.
