yep that’s the sound. 3 pairs started to produce this after a few days.
I got a recording of the ANC/ambient one earbud noise problem
No voice detection, no speak-to-chatIs the voice detection (such as OK Google) activated? How about speak-to-chat?
Also, does the mobile phone (or the Bluetooth device you connect the XM4 to) has Bluetooth 5.2? In 5.2, this supports Isochronous Channels which allows individual buds to connect to your device directly. Without 5.2 support, I assume the Right bud is making the primary connection to the device and then it relays the Bluetooth connection to the Left bud (thus consuming more power).
Yes, both types of reset, closing lid and factory reset, no change. It almost sounds like it stays stuck somehow in the ambient mode.
I guess you tried resetting the buds, right?
I just finished chat with Sony, was told thisyep that’s the sound. 3 pairs started to produce this after a few days.
Cheers still have them so I might see what happens but since they just released this version it will be another 6 weeks or more I bet before another release . But who knows. Did they say much about it and have many peopleI just finished chat with Sony, was told this
No they didn't say. I find it strange too, in last few hours the wind sound is now in left and right, and loud!Cheers still have them so I might see what happens but since they just released this version it will be another 6 weeks or more I bet before another release . Complained about it. I find it strange that all three sets I had never had the problem for the first few days and then it started to happen all the time which I find odd that a firmware would fix it.

I think it's a debris or air pressure issue. I found this post, tried cleaning the mics without much difference. Then I gently blew and sucked each mic.. wind noise is now drastically reduced! The inside mic made the biggest difference. It now sounds like it did at the start of this problem on Monday, like a very gentle breeze compared to the gale it became earlier today in both units, unfortunately noise not completely gone, it sounds like it gradually comes backCheers still have them so I might see what happens but since they just released this version it will be another 6 weeks or more I bet before another release . To Much of a Mess about for me as if this is the case it’s a design flaw. Been using the stm2 for months and they don’t show such problems. Even though the anc is not as good.I think it's a debris or air pressure issue. I found this post, tried cleaning the mics without much difference. EDIT: I'm considering this a fix for now. I'm in a quiet room with ANC on listening to this low volume and and there's no noticeable noise.
I had the WH-XM3, WF-XM3 and have WF-XM4 and the WH probably had the slightly better noice cancelling but the WF are plenty good enough for my use, I hardly ever go over 50% volume from my iPhone even on planes and for me being able to just stuff then in the pocket vs having to carry a bag wins out every timeHello!
I'm thinking about buying WF xm4 or WH xm4. I would use them while traveling on train. Which one is better for ANC? I've checked some reviews which say the are almost the same. What's your opinion?
Thanks!
Thanks! Currently I use IEM and I like it better than headphones, they are more portable smaller etc. One thing I still afraid is the foam tip. I use Azla tip for my IEM and I've heard it's good with the xm4.I had the WH-XM3, WF-XM3 and have WF-XM4 and the WH probably had the slightly better noice cancelling but the WF are plenty good enough for my use, I hardly ever go over 50% volume from my iPhone even on planes and for me being able to just stuff then in the pocket vs having to carry a bag wins out every time
I use Azla Crystal (not Xelastec) or Final Audio E tipsThanks! Currently I use IEM and I like it better than headphones, they are more portable smaller etc. One thing I still afraid is the foam tip. I use Azla tip for my IEM and I've heard it's good with the xm4.
