Just discovered that the A50R fw (just like with dsd) requires source direct to be disabled to get sound from mqa files

Not being able to hear what other members explain was bothering me, so I decided to do a little digging around. It appeared that when I revert back to stock 3.02 in order to upgrade to MKII, my region was changed back to E.

I changed back to J and U region and now I hear what other members say much easier. I wanted to share this just in case others might have had a similar issue.

Audionewbi, can you or anyone else please explain how changing the region affects the sound? This firmware is so good. I don't know what more could be done to make it better on WM1A. Thanks MrWalkman.

Yep, there's nothing made to change the region.

I’m listening to $43 IEMs and MK2 is taking them to the sky with the 1A. Seriously this is pure science fiction.This is like UFOs landing and meeting Trump on CNN?

Ok......this one takes the cake. I mean fun would be to go to a Head-Fi meet where there are 1000s of dollars in IEMs laying around and put these on someone’s head with the 1A and MK2!

MK2 makes a $43 IEM totally amazing! It’s one of those things that makes you question reality around you?

If you told someone they were listening to a $300 IEM they would not question the supposed fact. The other one interesting aspect is this particular IEM has 4 DD drivers as 2 in each module and 3 BAs per side! Lol.....obviously the bass is prominent yet it’s total quality? Wild! I could listen to this combo for 30 days straight and be satisfied?

While obviously not perfect it’s still pretty amazing? Vocals may even sit slightly farther back than the Sony sound, yet they are not intolerable?

Obviously Liebig's barrel law could be applied here. But if you listen to EDM it’s a joy and a half. The law states that no matter what the barrel size, it’s only as effective as it’s weakest section. IEMs can be looked at that way. Still? Firmware is somehow changing the rules here?

I was on the J region on MK1, on MK2 after checking with scsitool, it was showing E region. I'm not sure how I change the region, but now I'm on CN region, which is to my liking.

Guess what, CN region supports cue sheet!

I think CUE sheet support was already there, and it should be independent of the region.

You could change the region and check again to confirm it.

I am about to buy an a45, I see the fw-mod will be reposted or renewed soon by @MrWalkman...
Question is...is it possible to use Spotify via Bluetooth-Ldac from my mobile to the a45 with the fw-mod or do i need a a55 for that?
