I just meant the M9 with the stock cable. Fine wine and enjoyable to listen with on the 1Z when it had the DMP M1

Your the hardest person to keep up with as in the last two weeks you have listened to more gear than everyone in this thread combined!

Well, like people said, if the resources are there, take advantage of them. I did say I was lucky and do appreciate it. And still do to this day. It’s why I could compare this to the DMP-Z1 🤷🏻‍♂️

Such specific shops are far more prolific across Asia. We have a few locally, one even lets your purchase on a two week trail, if you don't like return with no penalty which is far from common.

I’m sure your familiar with the (Sony MUC-B20SB1)..... though I’m just mentioning it again as it’s a big deal bringing balance to the Z7 even with the 1A.
Yep, thanks, I know this one but they are asking up to 270 pounds for one - not yet ready. :)
I've paid a tad less for the MDR-Z7, mint used, full set with box.
And the similar custom cable I bought cost me only 50 quid.

And I'd buy a Sony MUC-B20SB1 only in case I could be able to compare
those 50 and 250 quid cables and do feel that sonic difference really costs 200 pounds to me.
That's simple - for me all my toys' costs, money spent,
should be really worth/match a pleasure of having them. Otherwise, a waste of money. :)

Oh, how I miss Japan - usually I travel there twice a year, but this covid craze just put an end to it for now.

Well this is a Sony thread after all :p

But from what i've seen on budget, midrange cable threads that seems to be the general concensus on kimber cables. People who first hear it often say its muddy or something to that effect.
Actually both Redcarmoose and you are true. I got kimber cable when I first purchased 1A. It’s true in earlier firmwares kimber cable is muddy. I hated it. However with Mr WAlkman later fw, it has become a monster cable, far outstripping its price. Why? Because the latest fw, especially mk1 fw, clears up the muddyness. Added bonus, actually what made kimber outstanding, is it has one of the best timber, and I don’t say it lightly. It also has the best 3D effect of all cables I have, including PW1960 4 core cable and ALO gold iem 16 core iem cable. I would rate kimber cable as one of the best value iem cable there is. Of course your iem need to be able to take advantage of all this cable has to offer.

Just for perspective I use kimber cable with Romi mod 1Z and EE Phantom, another quite muddy iem. The result is outstanding, clean, layered, 3D and amazeball timber, with appropriate weight notes

Me too. Every day in the feeling of approaching something new and powerful that will cover all of us with a wave of bliss.

There is a temporary difference with my city, and each time I hold back myself not to ask a question.. Should I go to bed or wait another hour until the next release :k701smile:

I've been going to Huaqiangbei for close to 20 years and still don't know all the places, given the district is akin to a small town. If you cant find it here, it's likely never been produced...

That's more of the DMP-Z1's tuning than the cable making the sound clearer more 3d though. Timbre wise that may very well be what makes kimber cables special.

I never meant "acquired taste" as a derogatory statement.
