Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model

I got my new replacement battery and soldered it on the pcb without any problems. It was a bit difficult to remove the old battery without applying to much strenght/strain on the battery because the tape of it is very strong, but I got it done without damaging any parts. Walkman works again.

Congrats, this will help me in the future for sure. This spare parts dealer page rather informative though. The Main board assy for the ZX1 is available, but it costs 516€ plus 19% VAT. And one ear pad for my beloved Z7 is only 100€ + VAT. Available, but not cheap.

Well that wouldn't make sense economically. I had payed 480€ for my ZX1 at amazon (Germany). I hope Sony will release a venerable follow-up of the ZX1 one day, don't want to miss WiFi. With microSD card slot, bigger battery, more storage for apps and faster/more efficient cpu would be on my wishlist.

They released a followup last year - the NWZ-ZX2

Yes but it's too pricey respectively I don't want to spend so much money on a Walkman. And honestly, it looks ugly in my opinion, and the CPU is the same slow one as it is in the ZX1. Maybe I will think about buying it when the price should fall under 500$ and my new battery in the ZX1 dies again. But for now, the 33€ for the new battery are worth it, ZX1 feels like new again.

Sadly how the market moves, the so called planned obsolete, but I also think it matter how you acre for your battery, my Sony vaio after 3 years still strong, I charge to 50 at home

hello , i consider getting a second hand ZX-1 .. but i have a question : i had before F-806 does the zx-1 has the same clarity and forward sound of the F ?
as i was astonished with F clarity but it was kinda harsh treble sometimes ....

Drop on a sidewalk cause the damage... The Sony Poland did not have the parts to repair a player. Touch layer is working well except a 10pix-15pix horizontal stipe on the top of a screen.
