It doesn't have the tradition DSC chip we are used to, similar to HUGO.
I'm getting hiss on my NW-ZX1 with Nad Viso HP20s at the moment. Is there any particular reason this happens?
try disabling any wireless feature and play music while the screen is off, see if that helps.
Thanks. I have wireless features off but had airplane mode on, so turned that off too now. I can't hear it when playing most tracks now. It's most notable when you turn the unit on.
That is strange as airport mode will disable all wireless setting. It could be the caps inside trying to charge up?
Has anyone used the sony with UM miracles?
Chinese site Soomal reviews the ZX1 (in Chinese), with measurements lifted off an E-MU1616m (admittedly not the ideal test rig):

SNR measurements are terrible --- ENOB is <16-bits, but that's pretty much expected for any PWM-based D/A conversion system like the S-Master HX.
Distortion and crosstalk are quite respectable, however, and that speaks to the extra care taken with the power supply and LPF caps.
