Update: I turned off every possible thing that could be draining battery and in idle only went from 19->18 percent overnight. I think location services were leaching battery even though my zx1 was in airplane mode.

Also I ripped a 20 bit Japanese HDCD which through Media Go just came up on the Walkman as 16 bit so done it through DB Power amp and did come up 24 bit with High res showing in bottom corner when playing but the sampling was showing 44.1 khz which I thought should of been a higher sampling rate maybe, so was wandering if DB Power amp is decoding it properly or not?

That's closer to what I'm getting I had mine on for 20+ hours straight (although 10 of them were idling) before I decided to add some more songs to it. It destroys my X3 in battery so not much to complain about here. That was one of my two biggest gripes with hifi daps. The other being the bulk of the dap (HM901 anyone?) so both are solved there. 
 
Also I will be shocked if Sony releases a sd card slot in any of their daps. Also I would be even more shocked if a model not made for Japan is better than Japan's version. That being said 120 or however much gb is more than enough for me.

Yes, much though I'd like to see that happen, I don't think any existing customers of the Japanese release will have anything to be concerned/jealous about, when the ZX1 is released in Europe.

Who's compared a ZX-1 to a line out+amp combo with a pico amp (pico slim or pico power I'm assuming)?  The unit sounds better on its own?  Find that a bit surprising since I see others are saying the SQ doesn't differ much from a F887.  I'm just scared to get the ZX-1 and still prefer the Z1070 I have hah.

I turned off wifi and bluetooth. I listen for several hours each day and only need to charge it every few days. Not even an issue, such that I haven't even counted the days.

Who's compared a ZX-1 to a line out+amp combo with a pico amp (pico slim or pico power I'm assuming)?  The unit sounds better on its own?  Find that a bit surprising since I see others are saying the SQ doesn't differ much from a F887.  I'm just scared to get the ZX-1 and still prefer the Z1070 I have hah.

I have the Pico Power and should be able to do a quick comparo for you.  I suspect that the Power will win though.

  purk, would you mind posting your impressions on ZX-1 as a DAC alone in comparison to the ones you own? I'm seriously considering getting it, but I would have to use it as a DAC for my main speaker rig too.

You can get it from ebay and just search for sony walkman usb cable.

Thanks guys. ZX1 one is better sounding DAP. At least for my 1+2s. Now I am waiting for Roxannes to test it out. This is why I sold my RWAK after I got ZX1.
