I'm using A15 + HA-2 with the taobao's cable and can confirm that HA-2's battery lasts first in this combo. A15 does not charge from HA-2 with this cable.

Yep even with the FiiO LOD the HA-2 battery "dies" first, my sony outlasts it for 4 days

Not that it makes much difference for me since I never buy anything online from Sony anyway. I am quite happy to support my local Sony distributor in order to keep their business running. Ups and downside of online business, I guess. Off I go to order the New Xperia Z3+ in a few hours!

I'm looking for a pair of over-ear headphones that I could plug directly into the A15 without extra amping, which means that only highly sensitive headphones can be taken into account. Currently I'm down to the following 3 options:

Momentum Over-Ear M2
Impedance: 18 Ω at 1 kHz
Sensitivity: 113 dB/mW
Frequency Response: 16Hz - 22,000Hz

Yamaha PRO 500
Impedance: 23 Ω at 1 kHz
Sensitivity: 106 dB/mW
Frequency Response: 20Hz - 20,000Hz

Sony MDR-1AB
Impedance: 24 Ω at 1 kHz
Sensitivity: 105 dB/mW
Frequency Response: 3Hz - 100,000Hz

According to specs the Momentum's M2 look like the most efficient and easiest to drive so they might be the best choice, but I'd be interested to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks in advance!

I find my A17 brilliant with t51p. Never get past 60% vol-level and its surprisingly comfortable for on-ears, even for a glass-wearer like me.

the first will do it easy with a lot of headroom to blow your ears up.
the other 2 can "only"

  be driven at around 115db.
so power shouldn't be a problem so you can chose the headphone you prefer.

I have a Philips Filelio L2 (16Ω, 105 dB/mW) and I consider this headphone excellent (much better than the Sony MDR-1R that I also own).

The A15 drives it very easily to very good volume levels (I only get close to the max volume when listening to some albums mixed with a very low volume. I strongly recommend this headphone, and there are many others impressions at this headphone thread at http://www.head-fi.org/t/681147/philips-fidelio-l2

The MDR-1A has Lower ohm rating than the 1R's, my 1R's are 40 and those newer 1A are 24, so 1A shall drive better

Except for the TaoBao and Amazon options, has anyone come across any other places offering an A15 > Oppo Ha-2 cable? eBay would be convenient

waiting for the latest firmware maybe it will improve the sound!

don't think that is the sony strategy to play with sound signatures through firmware update !

I don't think that is sony strategy to "firmware update" ^_^.
