So newly received the Audio Technica ATH-WD900 with the ZX507 OMG a match made in heaven, listening to Dire Straits Tunnel of love and the resolution and instrument separation is unbelievable. I could not recommend these headphones as the perfect pairing highly enough. Running DSEE HX and the equalizer on "Excited" while breaking in the headphones and its WOW! se here for a great review on these cans.

^^^I agree, terrific match! The ZX507 & WP900 are the gear that I've bought since coming back into the hobby a few months ago. I have been loving this combo so much that I have been dragging my feet on getting a pair of IEMs as well. (I sold my last pair of IEM a few weeks ago)

^^^^ Sorry for spoiling the party. I was also running this combo but decided to sell the ATH WP900 couple weeks ago.
For my taste just too much bass and very boomy. I agree the resolution was excellent but I couldn’t listen to these headphones for a longer period of time.

Please tell us more.

I played a little with this app some time ago and did not notice a difference. That doesn't mean that there is not any but in my case, with Google services off and most of the battery optimization guide done, I did not subjectively note a battery drainage difference. I turned on wifi and BT and and was not using them. I perceived the battery drainage to be aligned with what usually happens without the app.

I don't use wifi often and never BT anyway. I also don't leave the walkman on when I'm not using it. It didn't cause any issues or problems with the wifi when I decided to use Spotify to check if the wifi would be working and stable.

Again, it seems to act as a battery saver most likely when the walkman is not in use so depending on who's using it, I feel it could be useful to some but not all.

is the ZX507 powerful enough through BE to drive the Sony Z7m2? im a bit worried that it wont be, despite the images shown on the website of the z7m2 being plugged into it.

On paper it does assuming the player is able to manage both decent voltage and amperage (and not a lot of one and a little of the other). 56ohm, 98db/1mw specs gives:

On the ZX507, unless it's IEMs or particularly easy to drive headphones, I still recommend the 4.4 output only.

I mean i'll most likely be using this DAP with my B&O H6, Sony 7506, Sony z7m2, AKG 371. i wont be using it with my DT1990 Pro, really no point since they're more for desktop use anyways.

Hey, everyone hears things the way they do, and has their own preferences. I use my WP900 only with the ZX507 4.4mm output & on high gain (YMMV here, obviously) volume anywhere from 50-55. Very controlled bass for me. I have always been an AT woodie stan, and am very glad I gave the WP900 a shot. I still plan to get IEMs, maybe something a bit more "reference'y" (though still with solid bass response...I can't do thin bass, it's just how I roll, even though I do not consider myself a "basshead") as I do enjoy different sound sigs as long as minimal technical abilities are present. I've just been very happy with how the ZX507 has handled the various cans & IEMs I've been lucky enough to sample since I bought it in July.

Oh my, I'm getting the itch again. I just bought a used pair of Sony MDR-1AM2 just for fun but I was keep an eye on those WP900. I will take some bloat or bleed in the bass any day over anemic or thin bass. I think I will wait a bit to see if I can get a deal on a pair of WP900. @griga Do you still have your WP900 and would like to sell? :)
