SONY NW-ZX500

Hi. I have already sold it.
But I do have Sony 1AM2 for fun and movies. And I would say safe your money. ATH WP900 sounds very similar to 1AM2. Just bit more detail, resolution and punch. But overall very similar sound signature.

Oh my, I'm getting the itch again. I just bought a used pair of Sony MDR-1AM2 just for fun but I was keep an eye on those WP900. I will take some bloat or bleed in the bass any day over anemic or thin bass. I think I will wait a bit to see if I can get a deal on a pair of WP900. @griga Do you still have your WP900 and would like to sell? :)

Has anyone noticed battery draining pretty quickly and faster than anticipated when using digital out? I thought battery life would be noticeably better with usb-c digital out since the amp is bypassed?

will the ZX507 to be good to drive AKG N5005 on the 4.4mm?

I am think either zx507 or M11 pro.

I have the N5005 and the ZX507 drives them easily, even on low gain, balanced.

Not answering the question (because a - I don't know and b - I feel the battery is always running out whatever you do with the 507...) but - this is why I am using LDAC Bluetooth to my living room hifi (Ifi Zen Blue) I can plug the 507 into power, with a long USB-C cable, sit on my couch and select songs and never run out..

I just purchased the 507 a couple weeks ago and am also really astonished by how short the battery life is (not even half of what is advertised imo). I like it otherwise.

FWIW, my experience since getting my ZX507 in mid-July, using 4.4mm out/high gain/high res streaming & direct source <On>/vol at 50-55, I use just over ~6% battery life per hour in normal usage (not constantly having the screen on).

EDIT: an important piece of info: I do not stream; only listen to ALAC files, ~90% 16-bit, 10% 24-bit

i think 95% of my library is 16bit 44.1 FLAC so i should be hopefully ok with battery life :) i never stream or wifi.
so battery should last me a good while.

If you read the fine print, max advertised battery life is always with 320Kbps MP3s. Sound effects + Flac or Hi-res means much less than advertised.
I looked at it with the particular file types. I also disabled all apps to make sure they weren't being used.
If it's charged and I just let it sit and don't use it for 24 hours it goes down to less than 50%. I don't understand why that would be the case in standby mode.

What I really need to do is actually time how long it runs out at a particular file type to see if mine actually has an issue.

It shouldn't stay on for 24hrs. Go into your settings and turn on the timer. Mine is set to I think 2 hrs after which it automatically turns off.

Also, make sure you don't leave wifi + BT turned on when not in use.
