Zx2 with a good amp like cdm works wonder really. If I have to choose zx2 mojo and zx2 cdm, I'll lean more to the latter since the biggest issue to me for zx2 is the not so spectacular power output

Hello . I don't know what improve but this is one way to conect zx2 with Chord Mojo , because mojo support only digital inputs .

so if i get mojo , i need this cable ? great , yu answered my question

definitely eyeing mojo , although this would make zx2 a very expensive transport

does it improve the sound of zx2 ?

I already pre-ordered a chord mojo to use with my zx2. I use a direct digital line out to micro usb from taobao which only cost like 25usd with shipping. Tried with a mojo from a friend and it works like a charm streaming at the right bit rates. Now waiting for my copy by end of this month.

On a side note note, zx2->mojo-> cdm is a total killer combo. Why bother getting zx2 then? Cause I have a choice without the entire chain and still sound fantastic. Not everyday we want a triple stack that weighs down your bag.

Is that taobao cable for the ZX-2 to HA-2? I'm getting that one soon so it's good that it also works with ZX-2 > Mojo. Not so good for the wallet ... again.

Mojo compared to zx2. My 1 hr demo impression is: mojo has a more impactful bass, a more dynamic sound, a more effortless delivery, brighter and less forgiving. But that said, it's a slightly different character so it depends. Especially the mids sound really different.

For better or worst hmm, I don't know. Zx2 more laid back relaxed. On vocal tracks it's really nice and smooth. On instrumental track especially orchestra it will feel lack of energy against the mojo.

This was what it feel like when ZX2 has "Sound enhancement" app not "Disabled" :D. To me. Have you tried to disable it yet?

for me there is nothing to comapre ... mojo just killed zx2 in sq and especially in soundstage, but mojo can sound diff with many sources ..

You meant different "transport" sounds different ? Say Walkman A-17 digitally transport to Mojo will sound different than ZX2 digitally transport into Mojo ? Also, TRRS is where ZX2 true "soundstage-potential" is at.

Yup. I will say normally you won't notice, it's the mojo that points out the diff.

I will say as mojo is technically superior as a dac in my opinion but depending on your genra, the zx2 maybe more enjoyable.

On a side note, not a single saber based dac convinced me to purchase it. Even the invicta mirus which cost many times more then the zx2 could not convince me it's better. To me this shows the strength of zx2 but also show how good chord dacs are in relative.

Totally agreed, Chord has always been a superb product line, and honestly, the pricing of the Mojo is a killer. I agreed with you about Sabre DAC, and other op-amp devices. Non of them can really justify what the best technologies from Chord own DAC and amp design, or Sony S-Master design. As we all know, ZX2 is the flagship from Sony.

On paper, I wouldn't be surprised if Mojo would sound better. Impedance output is as low as 0.000017 or so ? ZX2 is like....below 2 ohms ? I don't even know...there is no solid claim. But I am trying to say that I have yet to see other products that get these 0 impedance output as Chord. This is just to show how over-priced AK240/380 is as well.
