SONY NW-ZX2

It just occurred to me. Does the ZX-2 use USB3.0 or 2.0 for file transfers to its internal memory? The ZX-1 uses 2.0 which I find painfully slow. I seem to recall reading somewhere that it is a limitation of the Android version used?

Still USB 2.0

I would use a new dap for iems.  Do you have any thoughts on the sq compared to the AK240?  I'm starting to see used 240's for sale now and am still on the fence about pursuing that or looking at a new ZX2.  Thanks for your input.

I don't have the 240. What I have read sways me towards the ZX2 as sounding better, from those that have both.

I find it has no problem driving my Ultrasone Ed. 9. Needs 60 to 70% of volume.

Still USB 2.0

Thanks. Maybe I'll wait for a ZX-3!

When the Zx3 comes out, then you will wait for the Zx4 and so on, technology never stops.

You might as well buy the whole collection starting from ZX1

I do have the ZX-1. I was merely alluding to the slow USB 2.0 that plagues it in my opinion.

Listened to my ZX2 with sound adjustment app disabled for a while, SQ still very good but phone driving power improved a lot, seems software sound signature tuning is not as heavy as that on ZX1, raw ZX2 hardware really sounds good. The downside is battery drained faster, this app did limit the amp output to reserve power consumption.

I just discovered the sound settings for studio, concert hall, matrix and club. Interesting. I tend to be a minimalist though.

I notice my L & R balance control does not work. It has no effect.

So currently the zx2 is listed for $1140 on Amazon by premium Japan. Any of you guys know where they'd be shipping from? Probably Japan right? So would that mean having to pay duty and stuff when it's shipped to the US?

I think it would be best to ask the seller ? As the seller can pay those duties. I bought mine on EBay, shipped from Japan, and no duties owned. Years ago I bought something from HK, and I remember I had to pay something at the post office in order to pick up that item, I forgot what it was though...:D, that could be the import duties ? Idk

You know ? AK120 = 1200

Ak240 = 2400
Ak2046 = $20,460 right ? It is the observed AK brand price and model number :D

Also for your interests...Sony advise to listen to your music without enhancements for the best sound !

I keeps listening to my ZX2 without any sound enhancement / EQ from day 1. i even now disabled the stock sound tuning application :p

I don't care for sound enhancements, never have. I like to listen to music as clean as possible without using even EQ. After reading the above I tried the different room sound positions and they just sound strange to me.
